Will I be miserable at POP?

We typically stay in deluxe resorts at WDW, but I really wanted to give Pop a try, so we added a night onto our honeymoon to see what it was like. We loved it! We thought the theming was great, especially the neat little details like Twister boards outside to play with, a giant Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head to pose for a picture with, etc. It was also lots of fun to browse through the shadowboxes in the lobby of memorabilia from the various decades. Also, the food court was excellent--a good selection of tasty items. The only minor negatives we noticed were that there is only one sink (so there isn't a lot of counter space for your toiletries) and that the room is small. Of course, all the value resorts share these minor drawbacks, so it's not just at Pop. Overall we really loved our stay, so much so that we want to go back when they open up the next section. It really is a great resort, especially for the price.

Just so you know, Pop Century does offer a Luggage Assistance service. Drop off your luggage at our Porte Cochere, and your bags will be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available. (Often times much less time, since runs go out every 30 minutes.) You don't even need to be in the room, so you can head off to the parks while we take care of it all for you.

If you call the night before to arrange a pickup time, we can even pick up your bags and take them to your car (at the curb) or hold on to them until you leave the resort. Once again, you don't need to be in the room for us to pick them up.

We also offer luggage carts that guests may borrow if they wish to do it themselves.

We usually stay at the moderates or twice deluxes so I was a little nervous about trying POP for a week in January. It was just DH and I so we stayed in a king room and had plenty of space. I agree, the best word to describe POP is fun. The food court is good and we liked walking around the grounds. Our luggage was delivered as fast as we got there. The staff was outstanding, second only to the Swan staff.
My only complaint was bus service compared to all the hotels but WL which has the worst hands down.
At POP you stand in these steel cattle call things (least thats what we call them) fine in January but may be hot in the summer. Several times in the AM we had to wait for a second bus (still faster than WL) and many times there were people standing both to and from the park.
That's it though. To us the moderates and deluxes are more romantic or have more ambience. POP is just fun and the kids we saw were loving the popjets and pools.
We would stay again. It was more than worth the $49 a night we paid (don't let that get out to Disney though)

We did just that, we arrived early and did early check-in and went off to the Parks...my sister arrived later that day around 6:30p.m. we just walked down got a cart moved two car loads of luggage & stuff in just a few minutes. It was one of my nephews first trip and he loved every minute.

Over many years we have stayed at deluxe, moderate and All Stars and the POP. The POP is nice. The pools are great, the grounds are fun to stroll, the laundry close, the service great. Food is good, pizza and wine even late! True it is not as wonderful as say, Alligator Bayou or Savanna view at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. But you will NOT be sorry, or envious of others if you stay there. We took a big bunch in January and stayed at the POP for budget reasons. Enjoy having your "poor relations" along. We had a blast, and heck, the parks are just the same if you are at Motel 6 or concierge Grand Floridian.

By the way, love the Adventure's Club site. You have a sense of humor obviously, I think the POP will tickle you.
