Will I be Herding Cats Again?* **** COMPLETED *****

You will have to bear with me as I have no notes and my memory is fading quickly (hmmm….wonder why…..could it be, maybe…..just maybe....it's because the trip was FOUR MONTHS AGO! DUH!!!)

Uh....hmmm.....well......

I told him he better change his tune real fast or I could just take him back to the house….(we all have these moments, right….? Please say yes! ::yes:: )

Y-E-S spells YES!! (We just feel worse about them when they happen at Disney!)

Kathy

I've never had those moments.;) I've never been at Epcot with a screaming child chasing me with an ice cream cone and people starting at me.:crazy2:

Nice update, but it was way too short. You know that you can cover more than 1 hour in an update right? Love ya Sara.:flower3:

Sorry about Michal's shyness. Is he like that at school and church productions? Oh, and how did YOU get a shy kid?:rotfl: Seriously, love ya.:flower3:

Just the thought of being in that army man costume makes me clausterphobic! UGH.

Yes, we all have moments ;) Don't worry!

Thanks! Always good to have some confirmation!!! :grouphug:

Uh....hmmm.....well......

:rotfl: Kathy! But I'm so glad you came back to finish yours!! It's such an amazing report! :goodvibes

Isn't that the truth? Just wish it didn't have to happen at all, but oh well....gotta do what you gotta do! :guilty:

LOL Monica! I didn't even get a whole hour covered in that update! Only like 45 minutes! :rotfl: I'm so slow to tell a story!

Michael is pretty shy about doing anything in front of people, but at home he DOES do it eventually! He doesn't put himself out there or volunteer for stuff (like to sing The First Noel all by himself....:) ) but when asked, he will oblige. Don't know what it was about doing the Jedi Training? Very strange indeed.

And I don't know WHAT you are talking about....I AM SHY!!!! I just go on vacations with total strangers to get over it! :thumbsup2

Sara

Oh yes Sara - we definitely all have those moments! You are certainly not alone.

I totally understand about Michael's shyness as Sam is the exact same way. Drives me nuts!

I always forget about Star Tours when we are at DHS. I don't think I've ridden since high school.

Don't update too much while I'm gone this weekend! :flower3:

Excuse Me!!!!!!!!!!!! You dumped us in chat last night because you said you were doing a TR update so I take time out of my busy schedule to come over here and.....no update! :confused3 Get to typing chick!

You know I have these moments a lot with my kids :guilty:. I'm not super patient though. Too bad Michael didn't want to watch Jedi Training. Well one less thing to on your to do list. Thomas wants to watch it and says he wants to fight Darth Vader, but I'm sure he will be hiding when the time comes. He was even a bit scared of Jack Sparrow on our last trip. I love Michael's shirt, did you make it? I need to make one for Thomas. I'm hoping you went to see Indy. I have never seen this show so would like your opinion on it. If it's really good then it goes on the list.

Ha Michelle! At my pace, I might get to lunch on this day while you're gone this weekend! No worries!!! :rotfl2:

Oops. :guilty:

(I got it partially written up, but usually I try to actually POST it when I'm eating lunch at work...so see my FB status - I'm in desperate need of a margarita after the day I just had...UGH)

Sorry I screwed up your busy day! :flower3:

Yes, Nichole it did take one thing off the list...stay tuned to see what else gets "taken off the list"! :scratchin

Yes, we made the shirt...sort of a combo from a couple different designs.

(I think I need to figure out my exact dates for Shawn and I's couple trip....it looks like it is going to happen...woo-hoo!)

What handsom men you have there! Even if one was being a whiney butt! How nice of Shawn to take a picture of beautiful flowers for you. I guess you can't say he never brings you flowers. And this one will last forever.
hey if you need someYOAMD ears we still have 4 pairs. We never really wore them even....no cooties!!
Keep those updates coming.

Hi Sara, sorry I haven't posted for a while but my laptop died and I'm having to take turns on our old slow PC. All caught up now though and I love your divide and conquer technique, it worked great. I'm so pleased to hear of the improvements to the TSM FP machines too something really did need to be done, especially as I always get stuck behind someone doing about 100 tickets :rotfl:

What a shame DS didn't want to do the Jedi training next trip maybe!

Thanks Lynn! I think they are pretty handsome too! :) Shawn did take a lot of flower pictures for me this trip! I guess it's his way of making it up to me for all the times he hasn't sent me any! :sad2: Woo-hoo on the ears! Did ya'll win them last December? Lucky! Hey, if you are reading along on Monica's report - you know I have no trouble with cooties!! (Well, normally I do, but with those girls for some reason...we just had a mental "cootie" block!)

Oh no Jo! I hope it's not interfering with your mom's duty!

Our morning plan worked out well, I would definitely recommend it if you don't care about riding TSM standby in the AM!

Hmmm....maybe you've been stuck behind someone in my group before? :guilty: We always seem to have a crowd, and therefore a bucketload of tickets to get FPs for! 12 one year, 16 another, and 8 this time! LOL! :p

Day 5 - Disney Hollywood Studios
Part 4 - Throwing the plan out the window....

After Star Tours and the standard post-ride gift shop extravaganza, we regrouped to head to Indy, right?

Um....nope! :sad2:

The kids weren't so much interested in Indy. Well, when I say "kids", I mean "Sir Whines A Lot" Michael...but the girls just followed suit when he didn't express an interest.

I didn't press too hard on that one, as we have seen it a couple of times, and it wasn't an absolute necessity. I wanted to make sure that my MIL was ok with it though, as she has never seen it! She was fine with missing it, so we headed to something everyone wanted to do...Muppets 3D!!! :cool1:

PA120386.jpg

We love Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo...all of them...even Sam Eagle! And of course, the two old men that harass everyone were always some of my favorites on the TV show, and I love them in this! We walked right in to the pre-show (which I also love) but when it started, I made the mistake of not hanging back and letting a bunch of people go inside the theater before me so that we could sit in the middle. But it was still good even if we were off to the side! The kids all laughed and reached out to try and grab Waldo and the other 3D elements. I love sitting back and watching them - it's so cute!

After being thoroughly entertained by the Muppets, we were headed to lunch at Pizza Planet!

PA120389.jpg

It was about 11:30 and the place was empty! We sent the grandparents to find seats with the kids upstairs and Shawn and I jumped in line to get the food. The CMs here were a little lacking in that Disney "touch" if you know what I mean, but we got our pizza and drinks pretty fast and found the crew waiting for us upstairs!

PA120388.jpg

PA120390.jpg

The pizza was just ok, but the drinks tasted really good! I think we were all a little dehydrated! Feeling renewed and refreshed, we agreed to let the kids do a few games in the arcade. Shawn and Michael jumped into a photo booth and made their pictures into a cute cube, which for the life of me, I can't find now! Ugh. It was cute. Then they went and played a bunch of other video games.

PA120391.jpg

PA120393.jpg

The girls and I went to use the rest rooms and then came back and did the photo booth too! We just got ours printed though - no cube - but do I know where those pictures are either? NOPE! Ugh!

PA120392.jpg

We spent a little more time here (let's go people....I didn't come to Disney to go to an arcade), and when we left around 12:30, the line was HUGE!!! Glad we were done with lunch! We walked around and found the line for pictures with Lightning McQueen and Mater, so we jumped in it! We waited about 10 minutes for the kids and the guys to get their picture made, and then we were off!

We looked at the map, and decided we would try the Backlot Tour as we had not been on it in so long, plus it was a nice chance to sit for a while!!! We walked past New York City....

Passed by Ariel...

And over to the entrance to the Backlot, where the kids got sprayed by the little sprayers they have set up right there.

DSC_0049.jpg

We got in line and started moving towards the "show"portion of the ride within a couple of minutes.

DSC_0050.jpg

I have to say, the participants in the show were a little lackluster in their efforts. Maybe it's because it is in need of a change in some way, or maybe they just picked some boring people, but really....they were BORING....:faint:

I shouldn't say that...I wouldn't be any better, but the ones on the ship were, um, let's say...not going to win any Academy Awards for their roles!

Shawn took a lot of pictures during this. He would set his camera to the setting where he could take a whole bunch of shots in just a few seconds. I can't post all of them (there are probably 25 or 30 of both the first scene with the guy in the pilot house, and the scene with the deck crew.

Then we were off to ride the Backlot Tour....but first...birthday wishes to Katie....but from who????

Everyone loves the Muppets!!

I don't think we've done the Backstage Tour more than once...the effects are cool, but really, once is enough. Perhaps they need to change their schtick?

And I'm with you on Pizza Planet...I won't even let them start on the arcade games...."We can always do that at home!"

Kathy

Poor Michael! I have to agree, there's something about MGM that usually makes us grumpy or out of sorts. I don't know if it's the scheduling (or lack of) of the shows in the fall when we go or what, but it always seems more stressful. We finally broke the curse though with the third trip a few months ago and had a great relaxing day there! I have to say that we didn't do Indy or Beauty and the Beast or Fantasmic or the parade. I vowed this would be the trip where we do stuff we hadn't ever done before and just be content with it! :rotfl2: I just think it's great that you got to go with the grandparents, period. It just makes it so special!

Pizza Planet is great because I have never seen it crowded in there. But it's so hard to get the kids out of there :sad2:. I love the picture of your kids and husband with McQueen & Mater. I think I will be skipping the backlot tour again after reading about it.

I just re-read that update and it kind of resembles the backlot tour....BORING!!! Sorry about that! It just wasn't that exciting! I do think they need to get something new and different for the "special effects" portion, and don't even get me started on the next part of the ride....zzzzzz....

This park gave me such heartburn trying to plan. I really thought I had a good game plan, but Michael threw a wrench into it with his "I don't want to watch any shows" attitude! :crazy2: At one point, I just embraced it and thought I should be grateful for not having to worry about getting it all in now! :cheer2: By lunch, I had made it to that point ....and our day was overall really great!!!

This day in a trip (4th park day) is usually a rough one. When we have more time, the 4th day should be a totally off-park "break" day!

Pizza Planet is great because I have never seen it crowded in there. But it's so hard to get the kids out of there :sad2:. I love the picture of your kids and husband with McQueen & Mater. I think I will be skipping the backlot tour again after reading about it.

One of the kids requests was eating at Pizza Planet - they remembered it from our "sick" trip in 2006! :sad2: I think I would have preferred one of the other places - Backlot or ABC maybe...all pretty much the same CS stuff though! The pizza was fine, just nothing special for the price.

Sorry, I couldn't fill you in on Indiana Jones, Nichole. We have always enjoyed it though, if that helps you at all.

What a pleasant surprise! I come on and find an update. Yay! We missed so much at DHS that year that I do feel like I want to go back. The kids would love the Muppets. I wasn't super impressed w/ Pizza Planet either. I heard Disney is doing some layoffs, maybe they will let the people go who lack the Disney spirit!

The Miss Piggy scene just cracks me up!!! :rotfl2:

Very nice!!! Now finish this report before you go on that trip@ :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks Jill! I will try! :rotfl2: Goodness me, with 3 months to go, I better be finished with this thing! Ugh!

We are excited!
