Will I be Herding Cats Again?* **** COMPLETED *****

Sara:

Great update. I love the kitchen utensils! I am going to have to get some of those. I am sooo excited to go to Epcot with my DH and DS who have never been.

I am now 4 days away and can hardly stand it!

Oh well, I have to finish a lot here at the office so I can leave early on Monday.

Looking forward to another update,

Erika

Enjoying your report so glad your family is having a great time.

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Wow Erika! 4 days and you will finally be off to the World! I'm so excited for you to be able to show Epcot to you hubby and son! It is a great park!

Forewarning....there are a lot of kitchen utensils at Mouse Gears - really cute! You might leave with a lot! I couldn't make up my mind and was freezing from being wet, so I just ended up with the two, but I bet I come home with more from my upcoming trip....:rolleyes1

Have a great time! :woohoo: :woohoo:

There is nothing worse than a rain drenched Grey Goose slushie...wait a minute. The only thing worse than a rain drenched Grey Goose slushie is NO Grey Goose slushie at all!!!
Hopefully when you go soon it won't get watered down with rain. Have one for me although you should try the orange one too! It's my fave.

The out fits you chose for the kids look fabulous on them. It looks like the rain didn't dampen their experience at all.

Can't wait to read more...HINT ,HINT!
What...do you think just because of the holidays and going on a nother trip you get out of posting? No way. Finish this one before you have to start another one, okay?

Hiya just subbing to your report. I have said it before on your last report, but have to say it again, your kids are so gorgeous. Sounds like you had a busy day, and glad you got to enjoy your drink in the end.

You're just going to have to keep trying to enjoy one of those drinks until you get it juuuuust right!

another awesome update!!:thumbsup2 So, who's doing the pretrip report for the girls trip? I'm ready to read more......please get those fingers typing :rotfl: You truly do know how to make it fun for your family! I hope they appreciate you!!?;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know! Sorry! :guilty:

Thanks Lynn! I do plan on trying an orange one on this upcoming trip! I will toast to you as I drink it!

Ha! At the pace I'm writing, I might finish by NEXT Christmas! (And I totally plan on Monica doing the report for this trip! With commentary from Michelle and Sara!) :rolleyes1

No worries, I am in no rush. I am trying to make the next 5 months wait more bearable so having trippies to read is really helping :thumbsup2

I'm finally caught up. Hurrah!

The photos of your kids are super cute. It looks like you had loads of fun, but with all that rain, you certainly deserved those grey goose slushies!

Woo-hoo! I'm finally going to try and do an update on this report! But no need to get too excited (as if you would have)...it's probably not going to be much of an update! :guilty: But hey, I'm tryin'!!

This is our 2nd day of being AT Disney, but I just realized that I called our travel day DAY 1, so technically this day is Day 3! Oh well! Heaven forbid you think I'm actually on Day 3 of our parks! No, no, no....only day 2! Yes, I'm pathetic! So, without further adieu....

Day 3 - Magic Kingdom and the MNSSHP!
Part 1 - We sleep in and let the kids go swimming!

Today, we all were supposed to sleep in, except for Shawn and my step-dad! They were headed back to Epcot for the Segway tour and were very excited. :woohoo: They have done Dive Quest twice in the past, and absolutely love it, but I convinced them to try something different this time! I was hoping it would be a big hit as I have heard so many good things about it!

I woke up when I heard Shawn getting up around 7:00, but I quickly fell back asleep and stayed that way until 8:15. When I got up, I could smell that Shawn had cooked himself (and step-dad) some eggs and bacon before they left. It smelled so good! My Mom was up already and pouring the coffee, but everyone else was still fast asleep. Mom and I talked about our day and eventually the kids started slowing waking up. I'm guessing it was about 9:00 by the time they were all up, so we made them some bagels and frozen pancakes, and then Mom and I went to get ready while the kids watched some TV downstairs. MIL was still fast asleep. :confused3

By the time I was done getting ready, MIL was just getting up (around 10 or so) and was nursing her sore feet from the night before. :scared: I told her we were going to take the kids to the resort pool and asked her if she wanted to walk down with us or just stay at the house. She decided to stay put, so Mom and I gathered the water wings, goggles, cameras, towels, and children and walked the short walk to the resort pool. We had to get passes at the office in order to gain access to the resort pool and arcade (never went in the arcade - thank goodness - I don't think Michael knew it was over there!). The passes were $6 I think (totally refundable when you bring your entry keys back). I got 3 passes (thinking it might be helpful to have more than one in case the guys wanted to come down later) but they only charged us one $6 fee for all the passes since we were considered one family. Thanks lady!

We got to the pool area and it was beautiful! Michael of course wanted to try out the big twisty slide that they have, so I walked him over and told him to make sure when he came down to pop up out of the water and swim to the side since it was right at his head. I walked back to the other side and waited for him to come down. Whoosh - out he came, and out he swam to the side of the pool and climbed out. :woohoo: He was smiling, so I asked him if he wanted to go again, but he quickly shook his head "no" and said he had bumped his head pretty hard on the inside of the slide and he just wanted to go play where the girls were. :sad2: Awww...poor thing! He was trying to play it cool, but I think he was really hurting.

Mom and I sat on the lounge chairs by the zero-level entry and watched Katie play in the fountains, and Michael and Emily go in and out of the beach-type pool entry! They absolutely loved it! Here is a short video I did (very roughly through photobucket) of the kids at the pool.

Katie spent a lot of time running through the fountains, waiting for the water to pop up and then jumping over the water! She was compeltely oblivious to the little boy who was sort of chasing her around as she did all of this!

Emily and Michael did a lot of running in and out of the water at the zero-entry part of the pool! I feel like I should slow it down and put the music on from the movie "10" with Bo Derek, but they didn't have that choice for music! It's just silly kids running in and running out....running in and running out....:rotfl: At one point, Katie comes over, shows me a boo-boo, looks at her brother and sister, and decides she wants to go in so she wants us to put on her water wings. The part after that cracks me up, because she says (you can't really hear her say this on the video, and certainly not now that I put a little song to it) as she is standing right at the edge ... that she is going to "jump in"! :lmao:

It's like a centimeter of water right there! :rotfl2: Too funny!

Here are some more pics of the pool time!

I realized at one point, that I didn't have my cell phone and I knew I had brought it down there with me. Ugh. I started re-tracing my steps and looking for it everywhere (hoping that people did not think I was looking through their stuff on the chairs next to us or trying to take anything ), but alas...no phone. :headache: I walked back to the office where I had gone to get the clubhouse passes, but no one was in there and I didn't see my phone laying around. Finally, I used my Mom's cell phone to call my cell phone, but that grand idea failed when I still wasn't able to hear my phone ring. I decided to go back to the office a second time to see if anyone was in there now, and low and behold there was a lady standing there holding my phone. Phew! She had it.

It was closer to 1:00 or so by now, so we broke the bad news to the kids that it was time to go back to the house to get ready to go to lunch and then the Halloween party! They didn't want to leave the pool, but they were also very excited about going to the Magic Kingdom!

When we got back to the house, my MIL was still not all the way ready (WTH) and we quickly changed into our Halloween shirts, got the kids changed, repacked our bags for the park, grabbed the costumes and left the house about 1:45.

Oh, the guys absolutely LOVED the Segway Tour! "Mr. Photographer" Shawn failed to take ANY pics during the tour though! They thought operating and navigating the Segway was fairly easy, but one person did fall off at one point! Um, yep....that's why you won't see me on one any time soon! LOL!

He took these two pics when they were leaving Epcot, and the instructor took video of the two of them "segway-ing" around in a circle (which is fairly humorous, I must say) but it is on my Mom's video camera and I have NO IDEA how to get that video off her camera and uploaded to photobucket! One of these days I will figure it out though! :headache: Here are the two (count em...TWO) pictures Shawn took!

Up next....We are off to Kona and then the MNSSHP!

FINALLY! What the heck have you been doing?:lmao: Megan loved your video and wants to watch it again. Glad you found your phone. The pool does look very nice. My mom can't believe that I've been talking about staying off site! I'm glad to read an update and can't wait to hear about the party.

Yeah an update! I would love to do Segway! Kids in the water are soo cute!

Thanks! They loved the pool - it's always a big hit! The guys absolutely adored the Segway tour and my husband was pricing one when he got home to use at work! :rotfl:

Sorry about the delay! ;) I'm such a slacker!

I'm glad Megan liked the video - it's pretty lame as far as editing goes, but I was pretty proud of myself for figuring it out! I hope to get at least one more update before the crazy holidays get the best of me! Then there might be another long delay in the writing! :rolleyes1 I hope not though. I've got to keep pace with you now! :scared1:

Love the pool pics and video Sara, very of the kids. Windsor hills main pool looks really nice. Glad you found your cell phone. Too bad Shawn forgot to take pics ;) , guess he had fun on the Segway tour. That woulkd be fun to try on a kids free trip. Looking forward to your Kona review and MNSSHP. I wonder if you got done more than us??

Ahhh, men and picture taking; it's like they can only concentrate on one thing at once: ride the Segway or take pictures! Glad to hear they had fun, though, even though there's not much of a pictoral representation of their experience.

The pool looks absolutely wicked! Zero entry has got to be one of the best things invented since...sliced bread? :lmao: Seriously, I'm sure it gives those with kids an extra bit of peace of mind because there's no sudden dropoff from 1 foot deep to 10 feet deep. Can't wait to hear about the party!

Thanks Nichole! The kids absolutely loved the resort pool! The only thing is, after they saw it and swam in it, the little splash pool didn't hold their attention any more! Go figure! :confused3 I'm sure if we had more times where we offered the "splash" pool or "no" pool, they would have taken it, but the only other time they went swimmming there was the next day, back at the big one! Kind of hard for the little pool to compete! LOL!

I was shocked that he didn't take any pics! They did get some video from the guy leading the class - and it is hilarious watching them in their little helmets wheel around in a circle - but darn it if I still can't figure out how to get .mod or .mov files converted over so that I can upload them to a site like photobucket! Ugh!

Yes, I agree about the zero-entry! It is wonderful! Like a beach, but without yucky saltwater getting in your eyes, dangerous currents, and icky fish! Just lots of fun! :goodvibes

Great update Sara! The pool at the resort looks really nice - we'll have to try and fit that in next time! The kids are just adorable - love all the pictures and video (I'm impressed!).

I'm so glad you found your phone!

I'd love to do the Segway tour someday. Sounds like the guys enjoyed themselves!

Sure Michelle! We can do the resort pool next time - I'll go down the slide and you can play in the fountains and then we can both run in and out of the zero-entry! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

NOT!!!

It was a really nice pool though. :goodvibes And very un-crowded! But I'm guessing that during the summer it might be busier! Although it was pretty warm that day! Not too warm that I felt the need to don a bathing suit and sit my self down in there, but still warm.

I'm sure you would love the Segway tour Michelle - and I don't think you would fall off - I think I certainly would though!
