Will I be disappointed at POR in Dec.?

We're going for a Christmas trip - 12/19-12/25. Originally booked WL (have been there & love the holiday decor), but decided to take advantage of the $79 AP rate @ POR - it's NEVER been that low in the 5 yrs. we've stayed there. This will free up more $ for holiday extras, and we've loved all 6 stays at POR. However, I'm worried that the holiday decorations will be a let down after staying at WL, Dolphin, & CSR during Dec. Anyone stayed at POR during this time? Is it lovely like the other resorts? Thanks!

No, I certainly don't think so! My DB and his fiancee stayed there 2 years ago around Christmas time, and the lobby was decorated nicely, with a big tree as you walk in, and all of the greenery with big red bows. Very Christmas-y! No, it isn't the WL or the GF, but what is? You can always visit those resorts, and take in all of the finery, without having to pay for it!

I was there just before Thanksgiving last year. I thought that the decorations for Xmas were gorgeous. To each his own, I guess.

I've been there after Christmas a couple of times and the decorations were really nice. I think the WL is so spectacular because of the huge lobby. The same with the GF. Riverside decorations fit it - they're hard to describe, but they work really well. The thing I love best is the tree inside the rotunda of the main building!

You won't be disappointed with PO-Riverside's Christmas decorations. They plant pointsettas all around and for someone like me, coming from the North, seeing poinsettas planted outside was a side to see! The other decorations are very nice in the main building.
