Will I be able to get a birthday button at the Emporium?

Our first day in the park is a Wednesday and DS's birthday. Is it reasonable to expect that I will be able to get a birthday button at the Emporium for DS? I would like to avoid the City Hall as there always seems to be a long line there, at least first thing in the morning.

Also, as it will be a Wednesday (May 9th), we will likely be let in about a half our before the official park hours, correct? Then the rope drop will happen at 9am?

Yes my mom got one in the Emporium on her birthday. Also the little jewelery shop inside the emporium gave my mom a free enchanted automated phone call from goofy where he sang and wished her a Happy Birthday. It was really special.

You can get one free at City Hall I do believe.

You can get buttons from almost every CM that is behind a counter. Don't waste 15 or 30 minutes in line at City Hall when you don't need to.

Yes. Buttons are all over the resort. In general, guests services, hotel desks and the big stores have every pin all of the time. Other locations can run out time to time.

Advice I'm hestitant to give is this. Guest Services in DCA, tiny wait going to City Hall for something you can go at guest services in DCA is a mistake. Though this Summer this may change which is why I hestitate to suggest going there.

Skiingfast is right! Most CM’s can help you get a Birthday Button, or any of the other buttons as well. It was my little sister’s birthday not to long ago and one of the CMs in Main Street directing traffic gave my little sister a button! As Mystic_path said, many of the stores can make a special birthday call for you too. I’ve only heard Goofy, but it would be awesome if they had Minnie and Mickey singing too!

The podium over to the left of partners where the wait time board is also has buttons and is frequently easier to access at busy times than a counter in a shop.

My husband and I got our happy anniversary and honorary citizen buttons from shop next to The grizzly rapid run ride in CA.

And if you find a ticket window outside with a short line before the gates open, you can get one there too.

Yes, and "I'm Celebrating, and "Just Married". It's no problem. When DS was young he would were 4 or 5 at a time.

We got 1st Visit and Birthday for DD and the CM also handed us three "I'm Celebrating" buttons for the rest of the group without even being asked. They are liberal with them.

Have the CM write your childs name on the birthday button. Makes for a great keepsake. We made a large shadowbox filled with my nieces buttons, photos, and other collected items from her first visit. She loves it!

We got our buttons (I'm Celebrating, Family Reunion and First Visit) from the gates, where we got our tickets the day we got there.
