Will DVD declare inventory

Question for veterans of DVC: Is the second phase of SSR opening throuh December? If so, if you are on a waitlist for Xmas holidays, is it likely you will get a reservation?

When will you know that inventory will be open thru MS?

Rooms are declared into inventory when the points are sold--not when the rooms are open.

So, the answer to your question depends not only on the construction schedule for SSR, but also on the rate at which they continue to sell points.

Are you actually on the waitlist for December dates at SSR? If so, have you waitlisted for all of the other resorts, too? Some room is better than no room.

Units are normally declared into DVC inventory in 'blocks of units' well ahead of sales. Of course the units must be completed, so if sales run ahead of construction.........................

That's what I thought. The unit has to be completed and available for use. If not, they have oversold and I think this is against the law.

The unit has to be declared into inventory BEFORE they can sell ANY points in it. They usually declare a block of rooms or a building depending on the situation. It doesn't have to be ready necessarily to sell but does need to be essentially set for opening. The members can't actually use the points until the unit they buy is open. So there are usually EXTRA rooms when they declare inventory.
