Will DVC count as a "Deluxe Resort" for extended park hours

Yeah, I hadn’t seen the early entry when I posted. That would be a benefit for us since we much prefer early mornings to late nights-but I think we may be in the minority.
I'm totally with you. Back in the day when I was a CM at DL, my favorite time of day was early morning, walking through the empty park, just before rope drop. Everything was clean, fresh, and full of possibility. You could smell all the smells (good and bad, LOL) and hear all the music and the birds singing.

We enjoyed the late EMH the two disney trips we've done. As a soon to be new dvc owner, im excited for this perk and it being limited to just Deluxe level should make it a smaller event then before as far as crowd level. Could end up being a really nice perk to have!

We had stopped doing Evening EMH because they were too crowded. If Disney restricts the number of eligible people for Evening EMH, then maybe they would be worthwhile again. But I also think that Disney will adjust staffing and number of open attractions to get us right back to where we were before with too many people.
I had the good fortune to attend a DVC Moonlight Magic at MK. It wasn't anywhere near empty, but it wasn't super crowded either. I'd say Moonlight Magic was 'appropriately' crowded. If these new Evening Hours are like Moonlight Magic, then I'm all for it.

I think this is a great idea and probably just the start of Disney incentivizing on site stays and putting value to items that were previously included (but people clearly are willing to pay for).

Starting with FP. I think they end up with some type of paid FP system but as a “perk” on-site guests get some included. Maybe deluxe resorts get 3 (like they used to), moderates get 2 and values get 1. Maybe everyone gets 3 but deluxe get earlier access.

I don’t think this is “classist”. This is a for profit company making business decisions to maximize profit, which is what they are supposed to do.

Lastly, as DVC members, this only increases the value of our membership. So you won’t hear a complaint from me.

Love it! DVC FTW. This is great news for resale value and great news for members!
There’s many times you gotta play to pay and thankfully we’ve all paid!
You don't have to have DVC for this offer. It applies to all deluxe and deluxe villa guests, regardless if staying with point or paying with cash.

The sad truth is that EMH had become a truly awful experience in the last 5 years, likely due to both an increased number of on site hotel rooms as well as a significant increase in good neighbor hotels.

EMH had become something to take note of so that you could avoid that park on that day/night. Caused crowds and wait times to explode at that park. It's about time they did something to fix it.

From what I could tell starting October 1st, they will have early morning hours every morning at ALL parks for ALL Disney resort guests and evening extended hours only on specific nights for Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa Resort guests (includes DVC and cash guests staying at these resorts).
I would not call the morning EMH, it should be called EMM Extra Magic Minutes. Open 30 minutes earlier. Let me tell you they will let other guests in before that 30 minutes is up too. We were at the AP preview for Toy Story Land. There were 2, 1 hour blocks. 7-8 AM and 8-9AM. We are not early morning people and picked 8-9AM. At 8:45 AM. They had let everyone into the park. So we lost 1/4 of our time there. Rode SDD twice, TSM and Alien SS we were just thankful we were able to get in for it, but they should not have let people in.

I completely agree. We stopped going to EMH years ago. Our touring schedule was always based on which park was not offering EMH. I'm looking forward to being able to take advantage of them again, as now they should be an actual benefit.

Deluxe Villas ARE the DVC Resorts, so yes DVC is included.

Well, ALMOST all the DVC villas are called "deluxe". However, if you look at AKV value, at least their studios are simply called studios, whereas all other studios are called "deluxe studios". So does that mean that the people who stay in the value studios at AKL-JAMBO are excluded from this perk?

It was ALREADY overcrowded before they added on the good neighbor hotels. It was effectively pointless toward the end other than providing 2 extra hours in the park (vs. the 3 hours they used to give before cutting that back, too).

With the cutbacks in other specific onsite resort offerings (*especially* DME), there has to be some sort of "premium advantage" to justify those rates. As a BCV owner, SAB and the quick walk to Epcot is nice, but there are other very nice pool complexes in the Orlando area that cost far less to access and provide far superior accommodations. Obviously DVC members will still be there, but they've got to start offering a few incentives here and there to justify the rather preposterous rates for the regular hotel rooms. Having a couple of dedicated hours here and there for deluxe guests seems like a win/win for both the company and the guests, and I'm excited to make use of them when they're offered.

Jambo is still a deluxe resort, so it won't matter.

Deluxe Villas is Disney's resort classification for the DVC Resorts. It has NOTHING to do with the actual room booking categories within those resorts.

It just depends on the resort you're staying at, not the specific room. (Although you may be limited to just the Barnstormer and Aladdin's Magic Carpets, but you can still be there  j/k :teeth: )

Once again the big complaints about Disney are

1) It is too expensive
2) It is too crowded.

From a business standpoint both of these cannot be true (although from a visitor's standpoint it sure can!). If you want to reduce crowds you can either increase the cost or limit the number of people. This deluxe "perk" is kind of a way of a way of doing both. I am not opposed to it, provided it is something that happens one or 2 nights a week at one par each night, so that most guests at most parks can enjoy the evening hours....
