can I:
1. reserve a room through DU
2. have an AP code applied to ressie,
3. then change it to a general public code (if one becomes available), therefore, not have to actually purchase an AP.

Has anyone ever done this before? If so, do I click on the AP button when I set up the ressie on the DU web site. If I click on the AP button, will they also try to apply general public codes if I send an e-mail requesting this?

I worked out the $$'s (based on last years rates/codes) and I will get a better overall discount using a general public code (10 nights at a value during value season) then an AP code (since then I would have to buy an AP, which is fine for most, but not for me since this would be our only WDW holiday that year)

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

You arrange it all with your agent. I asked about gp discount and she had said she would look for it as well.

I think so, but the idea of reserving a room with AP code when you don't have an AP seems silly to me. If you run the #'s and it's going to not make much sense, why bother holding up the room at all with the AP rate?

I already have the ap voucher, though. Bought it for savings on park entry as going for 2 weeks - I only had them watching for GP in case I could not get AP rates....
