If they do open I would think slides will be a 6ft protocol. Capacity limits in effect as well.I am not sure about resort pools but I do not think the water parks will open this calendar year.
I just won't be there. I don't want to have to avoid all of these things. And you would be there enjoying yourself. And both of those decisions are okay.
Gross to think about, but the pools are heavily chlorinated. I've honestly never seen anyone do that in a pool at WDW and it's gross and disgusting virus or not- but it's not dangerous as far as being contagious. What about when people spit out the pool water that has gotten into their mouths or farmer snot in the area of the pool? Farmer snot: use finger or thumb to cover one nostril and blow air through unblocked nostril. This clears pool water and other nasal bits from nose.
I was really thinking the patio/pool deck surrounding the pool. Disney isn't going to be cleaning that area every 10 seconds. Little kids could crawl right through it. Over chlorinating the water isn't going to keep the virus that is airborne from coming in contact with people. I love everything about Disney pools, but there haven't been any studies showing how to keep these areas safe.
Runners call those snot rockets. HahahahahaWhat about when people spit out the pool water that has gotten into their mouths or farmer snot in the area of the pool? You do say that often. Evidently the pool is the the thing that matters to you. For others, it’s other things. That doesn’t mean they think Disney owes them anything....except what they paid a ton of money for. Same as you.The pools will have to be capable of holding the required capacity percentage of guests staying in the resort. If they can not guarantee access to the pool when considering the high cost of the resort, Disney will have a guest relations nightmare at each resort. If they believe they have to cap capacity and announce it in advance they will have widespread cancellations which in turn will make them opening a very hard economic equation.
I do not get upset much regarding Disney because as I say often "Disney does not owe anything to their guests". However, if I woke up at a Deluxe resort and went down to the pool to only be rejected I would have words with Disney and be looking for a refund.
It's easy to take the high ground when it's all theoretical...Aulani already has a stat posted that says experiences may be unavailable, and I’m not expecting any discount or compensation offered for that. I’d expect the same from the WDW resorts. I can actually cut them more slack right now than in normal operations. But my trip was planned for next year, not this year, anyway.
