That's why I agreed there will be breaches. Kids will be kids, but in my experience over the years... those occurrences are random and will be even more so under current circumstances. I was supposed to be at Poly next Monday and if I still could, I would. In the pool we'll keep our distance and everyone is covered in chlorinated water, so hopefully that will be enough.Kids keep no personal space in the pools. They're always swimming right into us. We never care normally but during this we would and while many parents would do their best, there are also families who don't think this is real and wouldn't see the problem with their kids being everywhere. I would just choose to not go in the pools during this to avoid that situation. It personally doesn't matter anyway because we're not going back for a long time (we normally go for two to three long trips a year). But that would definitely be a problem in the parks and pools. It would be so weird to have to say "6 feet buddy" to a stranger's child to stop them from coming near you if they were barreling your way.
Here's what the CDC says on the subject: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html
There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water.
While there is ongoing community spread of COVID-19 of the virus that causes COVID-19, it is important for individuals as well as owners and operators of these facilities to take steps to ensure health and safety:
- Everyone should follow local and state guidance that may determine when and how recreational water facilities may operate.
- Individuals should continue to protect themselves and others at recreational water venues both in and out of the water – for example, by practicing social distancing and good hand hygiene.
- In addition to ensuring water safety and quality, owners and operators of community pools, hot tubs, spas, and water play areas should follow interim guidance for business and employers for cleaning and disinfecting their community facilities.
