Will DHS close on June 17 due to capacity?

It's the first night for the Star Wars Fireworks and it's Extra Magic Hours/PM for resort guests.

It did not close at Christmas when we were there and it was the last showing of the fabulous Osborne lights and I have never seen it so full! I would not think so. You'll be safe. If driving you might want to rethink. They did close the car parks and advised using Disney transport.

I was also wondering how busy it may be. That is also the day the new Soarin releases next door at EPCOT, with all the Park hoppers etc........(we have FPs for Soarin in the morning and will be "Hoppin" over to HS that evening as we got tickets for the Dessert party (one main reason we did the dessert party was because of how busy I expect the park to be and this will hopefully make the evening a bit more enjoyable for multiple different Drinks......I mean reasons).

I doubt it will close to capacity but I expect there to be HUGE crowds that day.

Your absolutely correct, great minds to think alike; Our FP for Soarin is at 10am, lol.

My wife and I should be easy to spot. We will be the couple with Anniversary buttons on that are overly excited to be at Disney World WITHOUT the little one to celebrate. Which is just another reason to "get my money's worth" out the drinks that night.

Even if it closed to some you'd get in. It's extremely rare for a park to close to all guests, especially those with ADR.
Maybe some close to off site guests or single day ticket guests but that's about all.
It's been years and years since any park closed beyond that.
At least in WDW (CA has more issues with capacity)

I doubt it will but even if it does I think you can still get in if you have tickets for a paid event (ie: The Dessert Party). I may be wrong though, I am sure somone can correct me if I am.

DH and I too are riding FP during the morning and heading to HS for the dessert party that night. We are stopping to eat at Shula's on the way over.
I got our FP at 10:20.
We are riding it on Thursday too.
And we were there on the day it closed for the rehab to ride it on it's last day in the original projector. The old movie should be even better than it was then too

I agree with you. It will not close. As great as Star Wars is, it's not THAT huge a draw.
No doubt it will be crowded though, that's why we sprung for the party.
