Will DCL Book a Flight If Using Miles?

Will Disney Cruise Line book a flight for you if you are using miles?

99.99999999999% sure no....because they use the money you give to buy them through their channels....but I would love to be proved wrong!

Even if they did, I'm not sure I would do that, then DCL would own the airfare reservation and you'd have to go through them if there were flight time changes you didn't want to accept.

I am 99.9% sure they will not. I have used them for airfare 3 times now. They act as the travel agent in booking your airfare.

If you have airline miles why not book the flights yourself? I would always want to book my own flights. I’ve heard crazy stories (Ie many transfers, long, long long travel days) when a travel company books flights.

My guess...just a guess here... The OP is wanting to fly in the day of the cruise and wants the slightly extra comfort that if DCL books it they'll be aware of changes.

Just plan for an extra day and fly the day before - then book the flight yourself using points.

I've only had them book my flight once - for the day before and not on points - and the only reason I did that was I was changing a cruise from August to May and I'd already paid the August one off. The May one was less and I was able to get my flights and my night before at WDW booked through DCL with the money I'd spent already. In that case it just made sense.

No, you always need to book directly with the airline if using their miles.

Only time I use them is when I fly overseas and I am not using any points/benefits. You can chose your airline, the route etc., just as you would using a travel agent. So you don't end up with some long, drawn out travel plan. It works well for us, when we wish to use them.

Thanks for your responses. Correct in that I want the the security of DCL booking my flight but I want to pay with miles. It's a cruise out of Barcelona so I want two extra days in advance. I'll probably book myself anyway. Thanks again.

If you're going in 2 days early, the chances of something going HORRIBLY wrong are way less than flying in that day, so yay!

I received confirmation from DCL that they won't book your flight and let you pay with miles,
