2027 Member Cruise

I've done some MCs before, most recently 2024 in the Mediterranean, and am booked on this year's in northern Europe. Every time, the terms have been:

- Cancellation policy with full refund follows DCL rules. So 120 days before sailing
- Can use Disney gift cards to pay (we've always done that)
- Making changes after initial booking, including adding or removing a passenger or changing cabins, incurs a $95 fee. But last year if you had MMB, it was waved, so I assume the same is true this year

Thanks for the info!

Thank you for letting me know. I'd love to take this cruise, but don't want my placeholder to expire! Not sure I can do two cruises in the time I have available. Such a first world problem!
You would get the 250$ for the placeholder back if you cancel it. You can then book a new placeholder on the member cruise.

Those placeholders do what they are suppose to do. I like to look/search & book my own reservation too much, multi companies. I let it expire & they do pay you back automatically the years later!

Does anyone know if we can pay the member cruise with Disney gc?
.
Just remember that when paying with a Gift Card(s), for the cruise or anything else, that if you get a refund for any reason they will automatically put the refund back on the same exact Gift Card(s).
Hang on to the Gift Cards and keep them in a safe place until after the cruise and you are sure all charges are correct and complete.
If you misplace the Gift Cards and do not have the numbers recorded (including the EAN #) for each card, you may be out of luck.

Thanks for this! I would have probably gotten rid of them 🤣

Anyone who is excited for this cruise, don't read this post. I'm making myself feel better by pointing out all the things that make this cruise a no go for me.

As soon as I saw it sailing out of my home port, I was all in. Then, I read the date and the itinerary and the reasons not to go all started piling on.

I'll be taking similiar cruises from San Diego to Catalina and Ensenada, 2 places that I actually never need to see again TBH.

My last few visits to San Franscico have grossed me out to the extreme. I have so many fond memories of going there on the regular throughout my life and I hate that my overall opinion is as bad as it is, but I get no enjoyment in seeing people strung out passed out on the dirty, pee smelling streets. I do know where to go to still have a good time, but I always see strung out passed out people coming and going. We went to an expensive restaurant and had to park around the block, which was completely sketchy and I was worried about my car the whole time.

Okay, yeah, I do feel a lot better about not going on it now. :smokin:
It is really sad how bad San Francisco is now.

For a 7 night cruise, I think closer to $7000 for two.
Cannot use a placeholder.
We did the ABD and didn’t go into the studio, but were outside!

Given how much prices for DCL keep going up and the prices for the 2026 members cruise, I'm expecting a standard inside stateroom to be right around $8,000 for two people. One good thing about the itinerary is you probably get by without purchasing the wifi package on this cruise and avoid the $49 per day per device charge.

While we are probably out for most future MC's, we've done 2. We did the Dream in 2018 which was OK, but perhaps our favorite cruise ever was the Alaskan MC back in 2015. That was an amazing cruise.
If it were Alaska I would for sure be going even if it was considered too expensive. This one we wouldn’t go even if it were discounted.

I spent a week in San Francisco a year or two ago. We had a lovely time---and we stayed just two blocks north of the Tenderloin, so it's not like we were hanging out in Rincon or Pacific Heights the whole time. Granted, I've also lived (and currently live) in places that Other People consider "unsafe," so it is possible I'm grading on a curve.

For me it’s also due to I can visit SF easily anytime I don’t need to cruise there. If I chose to go there it would be a weekend trip. Taking 7 days off work is a lot of days to spend 2 of them in SF (for my husband). Just seems crazy to me to cruise from CA to CA for 2 days. I know no itinerary will be great for everyone, I’m just sad because we were really wanting to do it in 2027.

Sure! There are many reasons why someone might not want to take this cruise. I'm just pointing out that "the San Francisco streets are paved with heroin addicts" doesn't have to be one of them.

Again, YMMV. San Francisco is a major city, after all, with all of the challenges any major city faces in our current climate and culture.

We had a similar experience in 2023. I had read a lot about how horrible it would be and didn’t find it much worse than on multiple previous visits from a tourist perspective.
