Will codes be released this week???

We too are waiting on codes for a May trip and I wanted to subscribe to this thread. Sending some pixie dust everyone's way! :flower:

I hope so! :) Just purchsed our airfare this morning - it finally went down a little. So, it's official - we're going to WDW with or without AP codes! :teeth: It would be really great if they came out this week. But, we'll just be happy if they come out. :)

Oh, I don't know about that. I own at BWV and I still watch for those codes to come out. God forbid I use those points for Fri/Sat nights. I like to add on either end of my trip at a non-DVC resort and extend the trip. That's what happens when you have an AP. But then again, while I am watching for those codes to come out, it's going to be my agent at DU that gets the discount for me. I just can't stand feeling like I might miss it because I have to be someplace else the day they come out!!!

:confused3 sorry if I seem a little confused but I am a new dvc member and I don't understand all this talk about codes. Am I missing something. My first trip to disney is scheduled for Oct 05

Goofy4Tink, I am in the same boat as you, always watching for bargains on cash rooms to stretch out my DVC vacations. I have never understood exactly what a travel agency like DU could do for someone like me, yet you seem to like them. Can you tell me how this works? Can they book for you or watch for codes FOR you? How do they make a living doing this when we don't pay them? I guess I always thought I was "too small potatoes" for an agency as I often only book 2-4 cash nights on an average trip.

Thanks for any info,
Colleen

DVC doesn't eliminate the code watching at all! Especially those who only own a small contract (we have 150 points). Trying to avoid the weekend points at all costs, plus we need two rooms this trip, so hopefully codes come soon! I hate this waiting.

I think some good codes for Disney Visa card holders are LONG overdue!!! They haven't had a good code on that for awhile now.

We don't need these 'codes' in order to book our stays at dvc resorts. We use our points. But, since the points for Fri/Sat nights are so high, a lot of us like to stay at other resorts either at the beginning or the end of our dvc trips. Disney several times a year (if we're lucky) will release different types of 'codes' that will give you a discount on certain rooms. These could be available to AP holders, to Disney Visa holders, Fl residents and sometimes codes that anyone can use. Then you call Disney directly and book your room using the appropriate code.

Colleen....I've been using DU for my none-dvc trips for awhile. I used them for the first time before I bought into dvc. I have asked my agent, who I get each time, if she minds such a small reservation. She always tells me no, she loves the little ones also. So, she knows what type of discount I can get and she watches for it. They get paid from Disney. That's where their payment comes from. If you want to give them a try, just go to the DU site at the top of the resort boards and put in a quote reuqest. Nothing binding. THey will get back to you within a day or two. If you decide to go with them, they will ask for a deposit, which you can do via a credit card. This payment goes directly to Disney. You can make requests just the same as calling Disney. I love the service. It means I can just sit back and let Shirley do all that calling for a good rate. She hasn't failed me yet. Now, here's hoping for some nice AP code to come out so I can switch from Movies to POR in June...for those last two nights!!!!

I haven't been able to find the section on Mousesavers that lists the dates when codes came out in past years. Does anyone recall when the "after July 4th" codes came last year? I recall the pre-July 4th codes came early March, before I left for Spring Break (mid-March).

Thanks! :sunny:

LOL yeah I thought so too, until we decided on a trip for the end of April (on cash, not points since we are using a lot of points for October trip).I wouldn't mind a good code. Makes me appreciate DVC more though. I hate the "wonder if" code game that has to be played now. :badpc:

Ap rates for check-ins 7/5/04 - 8/28/04 came out on May 5th :sunny:

I check my Sunday Travel section of my Paper every week. This is where I find my codes.

I spoke to a CM at CRO today who told me there would be codes & AP discounts for "late April and on" coming out, but "not to expect anything before the very end of Feb. to the first week of March." :rolleyes1

well tomorrow is the 17th... a date some CM's have given people as to when to begin possibly looking for some codes. Wonder if it'll happen soon? I'd love to see something before the first of march like the previous post shows.

CMON CODES!!!!!

I'm waiting for the May codes, too! If they are good then hopefully I can stay longer at the Polynesian! :earsboy:

I was under the impression that with the popularity of the Happiest Celebration, there would not be any codes. Rooms are booking fast.

When I got my email code, I was told there was not any CSR rooms available for a code rate unless I wanted a suite. The CM that helped me said I was fortunate to get an email code because general codes may not be released as rooms are booking quickly at rack rate.
