Will Britney lose her baby?

When I saw the thread heading, I was thinking it meant:

"Would she set the baby down and forget where she had left him?"

TPR (Termination of Parental Rights) is extremely difficult. A parent has to do some pretty horrible things to actually LOSE the child. At the worst, she'd get a ticket.

I do think she should be given a ticket as an example to others.

As for Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, he wasn't in America when he pulled that stunt, was he? The rest of the world isn't as cautious as we are when it comes to our infants.
This whole thing is just so ridiculous. There are so many other crazy parents out there who are beating the crap out of their kids on a daily basis and nothing happens to them. Those are the ones the public should be in an uproar about. Good grief.

I remember the Croc Hunter incident. Didn't that take place in his zoo in Australia?
I bet there are alot of practices around the world that parents do that to us would seem borderline abusive. Drinking while pregnant comes to mind. As does leaving the baby outside in the baby carriage while they go in for coffee or tea. They just let them sleep outside and keep and eye on them. I remember some lady doing that here in the U.S. and all heck broke loose. But where she was from it was an everyday occurance. No one even blinks an eye.

OMG, I totally thought she was an idiot for what she did but of course she should NOT lose custody of her son over it. Sheesh, has anyone ever lost custody for being caught with their child out of a carseat? That is just dumb (not aimed at the OP, just the idea of it)

She made a mistake, a stupid one IMHO, but certainly not one that would suggest that she is ill equipped to take care of her child.

Ever hear the saying "a dime response to a penny problem"? This thread is it.

Picture this. My mother walked into the hospital to deliver me with cigarette lit, about 80 pounds gained, on high heels, with a tuna fish sandwich jammed into her purse in case the hospital wouldn't let her eat. I turned out OK. I think some on this thread might've shipped me off to foster care. :)

OMG, that is so hilarious, you have a way of making the words come to life...'knowing' what you are like now, it just brings a smile to my face that anything can happen.

You are absolutely right, a dime solution to a penny problem. She learned the hard way, with her face splashed all over the place. Situation over, definitely not a sign that her son would be better off placed in the care of the 'system'...God, the thought of it makes me shudder.

I said on the other Britney/baby thread that if all my bad Mommy moments were caught on film I'd be in jail now.

Good thing I'm not a celebrity! :teeth:

Is it weird to say I love your mom? :goodvibes
And I love that saying too. I will copy you and use it often and give you none of the credit. Okay? :thumbsup2 :teeth:

J/K :p

No, she should not lose her baby. All parents do stupid things we later realize could have led to tragedy. I let my DD fall down a set of stairs in her walker when she was about 8 months old. In retrospect, I was stupid. The walker hit the trash that same day.

If you had to be perfect to become a parent, most of us would never be allowed to be parents. That being said, if a parent repeats a dangerous behavior when they know better, all bets are off.

Off topic, but weren't those old walkers sort of the stupidest idea ever? I mean, seriously, do really young kids have any need to have access to wheels before they can talk? I think the newer chair things (sort of look like a walker) are a much better idea because they cannot go anywhere. Btw, we had one too and my DD toppled hers over when the wheel hit the carpet strip in the doorway (bloody lip for her and took a few years off my life)...just an accident waiting to happen.

::yes:: I took it away from my oldest as soon as she learned how to move the thing. To make it worse her idea of fun was bracing her legs and kicking off so she'd go zooming across the floor. We had a living area with steps into it from the hall, I just knew she was going to go flying off. I love those little bouncy things with no wheels, wish they'd been around sooner for her.

I can't believe that people are still going on about Britney. She made a mistake, she's probably really embarassed and now it's time to let it go. JMO.

I bought one for my DD when she was about 5-6 months old to take visiting - it folded down so it was more portable than the exersaucer - and she just hated sitting in her bouncy seat - she wanted to be upright all the time. But, boy I felt guilty cuz I bought a walker!!

I dont believe her side of the story but ultimatley the child came to no harm and as such there are no grounds for removing him from his family.

I doubt she will ever be so stupid again, she is young & naive and after the dressing down she will have recieved from the Police and her mom & husband I am sure she will think carefully before doing anything so ridiculous again.

Absolutely! I had DD sitting in hers while I was getting ready for work. She was in my bedroom. I walked down the hall to the kitchen. Never had she moved an inch in the darn thing until that morning. I heard this big crash and DD started crying. Somehow, she followed me out of the room, down the hall and fell down about eight steps (back to front split home). It scared me so bad. It could have killed her. I literally took the walker to the trash that evening. After the fact, I read all sorts of horror stories about accidents. We were lucky. There were babies who broke their necks or backs falling in them.

heck if michael jackson can hang his kid out over a balcony and still have custody I don't see Britney not keeping hers!

There ya go! This is sooooo true! What she did was incredibly dumb- but she wasn't dangling him in front of a gator or off of a balcony. I'm sure CPS has more pressing things on their agenda.

No one dangled a baby in front of a crocodile. It was a chicken. The baby shouldn't have been there but was being held tightly. Just an FYI.

Now Michael...I can't find an excuse for that. :sad2:

Nope, she is an idiot but she wont lose her child.

Its sad but I see kids here every not in car seats. The law in my state is 8 years old or 80 pounds.

Interesting that she was seen today buying a car seat for the kid. And he is how old now????
