Will Britney lose her baby?

She's a celebrity, she can get away with anything.

No.

What she did was wrong. But how many people had a toddler crawl up a steps and come tumbling down. How many people had a baby in a jumper or baby seat and the baby wiggled out. How many people put a baby in a walker/when walkers have been discouraged by all pediatricians.

Even Kathy Lee Gifford said her baby wiggled out of the baby seat and landed on the floor. She forgot to strap him in.

That baby belongs with her mother-I don't think she will ever make a "mistake" again involving the safety of her baby.

Everyone makes mistakes-no one is perfect and if you are good for you, you have your **** totally together.

It was a stupid thing to do on her part but I dont think her child should be taken from her.
She said she was trying to get away from the press but she didnt look panicked in the pics I saw. I think she just got caught doing something stupid.

heck if michael jackson can hang his kid out over a balcony and still have custody I don't see Britney not keeping hers!

she wont lose the baby...she may have to take a baby class..but CPS doesn't remove a baby for one thing...

I have seen MANY people holding babies and driving and I always call 911...people just don't use their brains!

OMG! GET OVER IT PEOPLE (not the OP, but the general public obsessed about this)

She made a mistake. Yes, she PUT the baby in danger, but NOTHING happened. Parent's make wrong decisions all the time. I am not a fan of Brittney's, but until we can say we have walked a mile in theri shoes, we have NO IDEA how a celebrity deals with the papaprazzi in their face constantly. Look at Princess Diana, oh, I'm sorry, you can't, not now. She was in a situation where she felt her baby was in danger, she got out of there.

NO, she should not have her baby taken away...DEAR GOD.

Remember that Crocodile Guy who dangled his newborn baby over an alligator-now that was totally insane. That warrants a social service call. That picture still gives me the chills.

I don't think they should take her baby away. She seems like she is a good mom that did a really stupid thing.

I don't think she should lose her baby. However--I do wish she could be cited for it.

I don't think this is the same as a one time beating of a child.

Had harm resulted from this incident, I might feel differently.

If she repeats this act, I might feel differently.

One time--the public doesn't get to vote. It's not their child and her celebrity status will not have any weight on whether she can keep her baby.

If so--more private fools would not get to keep their kids.

ITA!!! People just need to leave her the heck alone. Yes, she made a mistake, she is HUMAN! I guarantee she won't be making it again. We have all made stupid mistakes with our kids.....the media just isn't there to report our every move.

Oh please. Fine her for breaking the carseat law, or whatever it is that gets done, but take the kid? Holy crap.

No.. I dont foresee her losing her baby.. She made a mistake, but its not like every other mother has never made a mistake.. She's human...

After seeing that movie Papparazzi it makes you think.. I certainly do every time Im in a grocery line and see a tabloid with pictures of the stars draped over it.. It makes me wonder at what lengths they went to to get that snapshot.. Thats why some stars freak out and lash back at the papparazzi.. They cant do anything without a camera stuck in their face.. sure they are a movie star and thats the price they pay, but it still must be hard at times.. I cant even begin to imagine..

here is another article i found:

Los Angeles County authorities are investigating singer Britney Spears for driving with her baby in her lap instead of strapped in his car seat.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy went to the pop singer's home in Malibu, Calif., Tuesday to gather information for child welfare investigators, The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Photos were published this week of the young mother driving her sport utility vehicle through Malibu with her 4-month-old son in her lap. State law says children must be in car seats in the back of vehicles.

Spears, 24, has claimed she was being pursued by paparazzi and she did not put her son in his car seat in order to keep him safe.

The baby was in her lap for about 2 minutes, a source told the Times.

The Los Angeles County Department of Family and Children Services doesn't comment on investigations, the newspaper said.

She won't get her child taken away and she shouldn't. Are people really saying they think the baby should be in foster care? That's ridiculous.

Well, Steve Irwin wasn't dangling his baby over an alligator - he was holding the baby in one arm while dangling a chicken over the crocodile. And I'm willing to bet that Croc had to be a million years old!

As for the Britney thing - I don't exactly love her, but I'm not gonna take the papparazzi's word over anyone's for anything. They are just way too aggressive most times. I probably would have done the same thing she did if I were in that situation.

there was some stuff on the dan abhrams show about it
i was shocked and that is what made me think of posting about it

If they took away the kids from everyone that did something stupid there wouldn't be any foster care because no one would be qualified under that type of rule.

She did something stupid, I wish she wasn't making excuses and would just admit it was stupid and should have never happened. Use the moment to tell the public it is never okay to put your baby in front of a air bag or anywhere except safely in their car seat in the rear of the vehicle. If the paparazzi were threatening her the chances of a fender bender go up and that is the perfect scenario for that baby to be dead after being hit by the air bag. It's doesn't have to be much of a crash for the air bag to deploy and a baby between mom and the air bag stands very little chance of coming out alive.

While I think that what Britney Spears did was incredibly stupid, I don't think she should lose custody of her child over it. And I'm sure she won't.

But young people have a habit of thinking nothing bad can ever happen to them, so maybe it will do her good to be very firmly reminded that she could have killed her baby, and for goodness sakes don't do it again.

TPR (Termination of Parental Rights) is extremely difficult. A parent has to do some pretty horrible things to actually LOSE the child. At the worst, she'd get a ticket.

I do think she should be given a ticket as an example to others.

As for Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, he wasn't in America when he pulled that stunt, was he? The rest of the world isn't as cautious as we are when it comes to our infants.
