I just read on another site that it has been pushed to "late fall". This is the first I'm hearing of this. Has anyone heard any rumblings about whether or not the Sept. 1st date is still accurate?

I would be surprised because when I was there in October they were dismanteling the cranes, which meant the structure lifting was complete. That gave them over 10 months to complete the interior.

We just rode by on the boat this afternoon and it looked pretty darn good to me. Pool area was looking great and starting to really take form. I think they will be just fine.

Has anyone heard anything about when they are going to officially starting booking BLT? The last I read was early March...

The "other site" also reported that Hawaii was cancelled or postponed indefinitely.... a week or so before they broke ground LOL!

I think Disney pretty much makes it very costly to the contractors if they don't meet the deadlines. They may have to work round the clock, but my understanding is that the contractors don't want to be responsible for a delay. So unless it's Disney's fault... it will most likely make it LOL!

Remember not ALL of it will have to open 9/1.

Sept is an excellent month for the new opening.

not many DVCers will be going that month. so good time to get the bugs out and make sure everything is working properly.

don't remember any of the DVC delaying opening.

the bridge are they still working on it? but even that would not delay opening.

since Oct, Nov and Dec - it will be in demand - just can't see DVC allowing DVD to delay opening.

I would agree with Spiceycat, VERY busy season for DVC kicks in right after proposed opening.
Any delay would be costly to the contractor.pirate:

I frequent a lot of boards, yet don't recall reading this anywhere.

You're right about that Carol. I remember that now. LOL. You and some others here have made some good points about a timely opening. I feel better now. Thanks.
