Will be purchasing, but have a quick Question

We are from Alberta Canada, so unfortunately we can not get any information in advance from Disney, but will be travelling in mid December, and are planning on purchasing when there (AKV).

We are hoping that some of the incentives are still in place at that time.... but we have a question.

If we do the tour and purchase 160 points (or 220 if we use the reffereal program) on one of our first days there, and get our temporary ID number; can we go back later in the week and take advantage of an Current Owner "Add On" deal... or will they simply regard this as a larger initial investment?

I would think you could do it as an add-on. Somehow I don't think they'll lose any opportunity to sell more points to you.

I just dont know if they will allow us to take advantage of both "developer point bonuses...

Proposed Initial Purcahase:
225 Points= recieve 160 Developer Points

End of Week "Current Owner" add-on
100 Points= recieve 100 Developer Points

So Theoretically, if they allow it; we would purchsae 325 points and receive 260 "bonus points" to use in our first year.

I'm scared that they will say no way!

Do you have a Disney Visa? If you do and can find a way to get this taken care of before 11/30 you would qualify for $500 in bonus rewards as well. Also, I really don't think they would tell you "no". They are really trying to move some points right now (probably due to the huge upfront costs with the new DVC's annouced @ Disneyland/Hawaii and the rumored Contempory Resort DVC, so I think they will work with you anyway they can.

Oh well, at least there's some other decent promos if you can find a way to make them work. I know there are lots of members in Canada, maybe a few more of them will join in with some helpful suggestions.

That's pretty clever thinking. We are buying AKV in three weeks at DL. I can ask for you at DL if you want

According to my Guide, although you can make reservations before you Close on your initial purchase, you are not officially a Member until Closed. You can add on after you are officially a Member, but not while pending.
btw - for new members, the deal is 225 points at SSR or AKV with a referral name of an existing member, which you can obviously get here on DISboards.
