Will an early Easter mess things up?

We are planning to go around the 3rd week of April (12-19) next year. I thought we would be going at a good time since Easter is March 23, I figured spring breaks would be over. But now I just read something that being early might cause spring breaks to be at different times, and some schools might do breaks throughout April. Will this be the case? Is this common as well with NE schools, as this is what I have heard as well? I would like to go some other time if it is going to be crazy.

I think mid-April will actually be a little less crowded than usual next year because Easter is so early.

But that's just my opinion and no one will know for sure until mid-April! ;)

My school doesn't base spring break as much on Easter as they do on state testing. For the 2007-08 school year they had given us a tentative spring break for the last week of March but I believe it will be pushed into April.

my kids are off from March 21-28th for Easter
then again April 21st & 22nd for Passover.

It really depends on the school district. Our school, and most of the surrounding ones (southern NJ) have spring breaks that follow Easter. Soem schools have it in a certain point in the year or around testing. It wouldn't matter when Easter was for those schools.

I'm a teacher in Western NY. We have a long weekend for Easter in March. Our spring break is April 11-18. I went to Disney in April a few years ago when Easter was in March. It was busy but not crazy. I would compare the crowds to what I experienced this past Thanksgiving. if you are concerned about crowds you may want to move your vacation to the week before or the week after. The 3rd week in April is our usual spring break and the schools in my area as well. I was planning on a trip to Disney for spring break but my 21 year old DS gave me the sad puppy dog eyes about going to Disney without him. I changed my plans so I could take him to Disney for Christmas (What am I thinking?)

IN Palm beach county, FL-schools are on spring break April 7th-11th. So- You should be fine......From our experience, we had to go during our spring break last year and it was truly awful. This was our trip thst qualified to be the worst experience at Dsiney in 30 years!! This coming from a veteran Disney goer, with the attitude of"just make the best of it"! By 11:00 a.m., the fast passes were all gone for the entire day. At 10:00 a.m., the fast pass for Soarin was for quite late at night. We were able to sample some of Epcot's pleasures, but were unable to go on a single attraction. At Animal Kingdom, we waited 2 1/2 hours for Expedition Everest and went on our 2nd ride of the day, finally, at 6:00 PM. The Disney Customer service rep told us to imagine how people from Europe coming for their first, and maybe only, time must feel.

All that aside- be sure to take advantage of the early & late openings. Plan to get a couple of fast passes as soon as possible & save those rides to actually ride on later in the day. Meanwhile- wait on line for the other rides.

Our decision next time, faced with going during our spring break or not going, will to just not go. We live 3 hours from Orlando and will just find another time during the year!!:hippie:
Happily, our July trip was tons of fun ,:cool2: even in our hot florida sun & occasional rain showers(ponchos are great!) We used our early & late hours and fast passes and had a fabulous 4th of July.

Have fun & enjoy your trip!:wizard:

The last 2 years we have gone the 1st week of April and it's been insanity there. This year we are probably going to go during DS9's Spring Break which is April 19-27th. With him going into the 4th grade we figured it woudn't be as smart pulling him out of school for a week. I can only hope that the end of April isn't as crazy as the beginning, though it seems WDW is busy all the time.

The only thing that we've noticed is going during this time frame there are a heck of a lot less flights from Boston to Orlando and they are 3 times as expensive as in the past. Pretty sad when your airfare is more expensive then the rest of your trip :confused3 (and it's only a 3+hour flight to boot). The things we do to get to WDW lol
