Will Airtran add flights?

I waited too long to book our flights for October. I was all set to grab the low priced non-stop flight on AIrtran a few weeks ago and after discussing it with dh, I logged on to find them sold out:headache: I've been watching and it just seems to get worse.

Does Airtran typically add flights as the months go on? We're still 6 months out (exactly...did my ADR's this morning :cool1:)

Thanks!

from PIT, they only seem to consolidate flights as travel date gets nearer, sometimes even cancelling the NS flights

did u call AT to make sure the flight is truly sold out?

during the week their prices ebb & wane like many other airlines, sometimes hundreds of $s for same flight for those i monitor might just be system issue

good luck.:wizard:

Is the flight completely soldout? or Are just the deeply discounted (unprofitable) fares sold out?

Either way airlines are reducing, not increasing, the number of flights to destinations like Orlando. Generally those flight still require deep discounts to sell out.

Airtran won't be adding a flight just for your date. Does that flight consistently sell out (or almost sell out) at reasonable (from the perspective of the airline) fares?

I'd be surprised if AT adds another N/S flight. Check other airlines. Consider booking a connecting flight. Does SW fly from your airport?

I don't need a non-stop, I just don't want to get to Disney at midnight :guilty:
I hate to book a flight that I'm not happy with this far out. Last time I flew with them they changed my flight 3 times, but with my luck, the one I don't like would stick!

Still looking at other options. I've only used Airtran one other time and just wondered if they had any patterns (other than rescheduling) that might help me out!

Thanks for your input!

Why don't you post your departure airport and dates? It's possible a poster might give you some ideas.

Is the flight completely sold out, even full fare tickets? That suggests you're flying during some kind of peak travel day.

I agree. Don't book a flight you're not willing to fly. No guarantee AT will have a schedule change.

I monitor AT a few times a year for my own flights & have never seen them add a flight. I'd call as someone else mentioned.
