I'm about to hit BOOK at ATA to buy our tickets for May but I keep getting this feeling that once I do that, the war will be on and airfare will drop. On the other hand, I'm nervous that if I don't do it now they will go up. What do you all think will happen?

You would think they'd go up, but you never know..
When you going in May?

We are going May 7 or 8th through May 12th - Are you headed down then too? :) We're staying at Coronado Springs.

We'll be there the 4th thru the 10th...
We're staying at the Dolphin..
We might have to meet up..:)
We're driving down..

Cool! We usually drive as well but I'm going with a girlfriend of mine and her daughter. Her daughter hates being in the car and would probably scream for 16 hours SOOOO we're flying. :p I really hate to fly but when I weigh flying vs. 16 hours of screaming little girl.... ;)

You taking both kids??
Your little girl is only 4 months older than mine..:)
Mine are used to travelling, but then I am a night traveller...:)
My girls will be almost 3 and almost 5 1/2..:)

I purchased our tickets for our October trip last month. My feeling being if we go to war, gas and oil prices will rise and the airlines will raise the price of the tickets to cover the fuel costs.

At two months out I would buy the tickets now. From what I usually see, prices go up the closer you get to the date almost no matter what. A little FYI is that if the prices do go down, you can usually go back to the airline and they will most likely give you a voucher for the difference... useful to know if you think you will fly them again in the next year or so. A rare few are nice and just credit you the difference but most do just vouchers.

Are you anywhere close to Louisville(Ky) or Columbus(Oh)?
Since CVG(Greater Cincinnati) is the closest airport to me, they are always advertising cheaper rates to fly out of there...

Nope, Elliot is staying home with Chris. We decided to have a "girl's only" trip for Mother's Day. We're all going as a family in December (driving) and I couldn't wait so I weasled my way into this one. ;) We love to road trip (going to Canada in a few weeks) and Moira loves it (haven't really tested it on Elliot yet). Part of the vacation for us is the road trip and seeing all the sights. All I know, is that I can't wait!!! :teeth:

We're going in July, and I've started to look at airfare, but I think (hope) it's too early to buy yet. I KNOW if can always go up, but I'd sure like to see it come down a little.

I made our ATA reservations for June (non Disney trip) yesterday. The price was actually reasonable and it wasn't worth the risk of them going up, which I thought was likely.

I went for it even though most airlines don't have their deals out for our dates yet (after June 21st). For me the piece of mind was worth the money I might have been able to save - but I really had to talk myself into it! I've wrestled with this decision for the last several days. I kept looking on here and the transportaion board expecting to see others - I'm not alone anymore!
