Will a room only code work on part of a package, if available?

We are planning on going Dec 31 to Jan 8 and I am wondering if we book a vacation package and a room only discount comes out for only part of our trip (say for example the last 5 days of our trip) can I apply it to those days even though its a package?

You would have to split the package into two bookings, and it would be contingent on there still being availability of the discount for your dates and room type, but yes, it is possible to do.

Wondering how I would handle this I dont want to wait to book at least the first 3 days for afraid with it being new years eve... So should I book room only for whole trip and change to package later when I know the dates of discount if any. Or if I book a package will Disney let me separate out the dates that may be discounted into a separate booking if I call when and if discount available.

My general advice is to book something now. Assume you will not be able to get a discount; what would you book? Book that as soon as possible so you have a back-pocket option if all else fails. If a discount appears, make adjustments at that time. It's counter-productive to try to guess what the discounts will be or whether your room will be eligible. If you know your dates, book them. When the discounts come out (if they come out), rebook if there's a better option.

Ok thanks for the advice. I will book our trip. We are going either way but saving some money is always nice
