As in root for the Eagles because you forget that they play in Philadelphia, not Jersey?
I'm clearly aware they play in Philadelphia. I'm trashy, not stupid.

Hometown pride? Why do you need to live in the same state as the sports team that you want to root for?
It just seems that people in South Jersey soooo badly want to be from Philadelphia, for some reason. So so odd.
Actually your generalizations about the people of South Jersey is so so odd. You clearly have deep issues regarding South Jersey, wonder if you want so badly to be from there. Maybe your put downs are just a way to hide your strange fascination and jealousy? Or am I as way off base with my assumptions as you are?
That ⬆Always speed past south Jersey. The beaches are filthy and the people are trash. It really is the dregs of society anywhere below LBI. To avoid the lowest common denominator of NY/NJ's finest, I skip the whole south part of the state and head right to Delaware. But always Ocean City, MD... every time.
That ⬆
You know all of us do you? I agree with @Hikergirl, your negative feelings toward people from South Jersey are odd. Such strong negative feelings are driven by something (or someone), I hope you work it out soon.Hometown pride?
Anyway, it just seems that people in South Jersey soooo badly want to be from Philadelphia, for some reason. So so odd.
All from experience. Wildwood was a complete one-and-DONE for me. Awful awful place. Cape May is nice, especially for the ferry access the hell out of New Jersey. This summer my family and I made the mistake of visiting the beach in Asbury Park. Christ. Talk about LCD... those patrons defined the term precisely. You know all of us do you? Please just stay out of NJ. Probably can't afford to live here anyway. All from experience. Wildwood was a complete one-and-DONE for me. Awful awful place. If you want to do it right, rent a condo here (go through vrbo to save $). It's a gated community, great pools, and you need a wristband, so the beach isn't crowded. If you want to be within walking distance of the boardswalk, the beach will be wide (you can pay to take a tram from the boardwalk to the ocean). The beach at the crest is more narrow (but still huge). You guys sold me on Wildwood. Taking my sister and her family there this summer. Can anyone recommend good accommodations for both families? Ideally a condo situation for each of us with close walking to the beach and boardwalk?
Thanks so much! Love NJ (I'm a midwest transplant!)![]()
Already do, actaully. North Jersey. Wealthy township, but man do we get snow!! Anyway, nice job on assuming. But as they say, when we assume...Please just stay out of NJ. Probably can't afford to live here anyway.
LOL! If your website's geographical tag is correct, you shouldn't be saying anything about South Jersey, LOL!Already do, actaully. North Jersey. Wealthy township, but man do we get snow!! Anyway, nice job on assuming. But as they say, when we assume...
I haven't been to Wildwood since I was a young teen but I have been to OC MD the last 2 summers. They have the same boardwalk type stuff that you find at the Jersey shore.
I love that entire area so that is my vote. I would also make a day to visit Assateague State Park beach. The beach itself is beautiful and the cleanest I have been too (aside from the horse droppings of course lol) The wild horses strolling on it, and even napping are well worth dealing with what they leave behind.
It has become my vacation spot of choice for the beach even though Jersey is closer. We normally visit Point Pleasant or venture toward Seaside every year for a quick beach getaway.
My kids love the Go Kart track, they also go play laser tag I think maybe somewhere along the boardwalk. They also usually hit the waterpark with their uncles for the day and have a blast. You will have a great time in Ocean City. Thanks to most of you for your input. I never expected this to turn into a hate on New Jersey thread...I really enjoyed the times I spent in Wildwood as a teen! I ended up booking in Ocean City because I found a great condo there available for the 4 days we needed. Most of the Wildwood ones I liked required a 7 night stay. And there is a huge go kart track right by the condo for my son. Also I'm excited to take my kids to Assateague for the day!! We plan to hit the East coast again at some point so hopefully we'll make it to Wildwood one of these days![]()
Born and bred in NYC's "other" borough. Outgrew our home and needed more space, which we unfortunately weren't going to get staying in NY. Especially where we were up on Light House Hill Road. We considered going east but property taxes on LI were ridiculous for what we wanted. Right now we are paying just under 14k, which is a bargain compared to Suffolk County. Plus the commute into Manhattan from so far out just wasn't going to happen. So we decided that Freehold and north west was where we would look, we'll away from the "Shore Creatures", as my wife refers to the local residents. Anything south of that? Yikes. I mean Christ... have you been to Middletown? That place makes Scranton look habitable.LOL! If your website's geographical tag is correct, you shouldn't be saying anything about South Jersey, LOL!

Suffolk County Long Island, not UK. My wife's family is from GB (Westcliff-on-Sea) and you cannot tear my brother-in-law away from the telly when Manchester United is playing. Not sure how much rugby they watch, but but being originally from Jamaica, boy do they love their cricket!Well I'm glad you found a place suitable for your needsSo I ask, hometown loyalty and all, what football team do you root for or are you a rugby guy?
