What is it like in Wildwood, NJ for Columbus day weekend? I can't get away during the summer and the first opportunity we have for the fall will be Columbus day weekend. Is the ocean still warm enough to swim in? Are restaurants open? :confused3

I don't know specifically about Wildwood, but my three girlfriends and myself had a 'girls weekend' in Ocean City MD last year, the first weekend in October. The ocean was cold. One of my friends braved it and ran in, and then right back out. We sat on the beach for four hours though, in capris and short sleeves, and a towel (:goodvibes), drank wine and read and talked. It was AWESOME.

As for restaurants, if Wildwood is anything like OCMD, then most restaurants will be open. There may be some closed, but I'm sure the popular ones are open year round. Check on the Wildwood website for their fall calendar too. I know OCMD does a lot of stuff on the weekends in the fall. They have a lot of festivals and stuff like that.

Thanks, I'll check out their website for the calendar of events. Just wondered if the beach was still an option. I like to just walk on the beach, but the kiddos will want to swim.

Columbus Day Weekend in the Wildwood/Cape May area is a big one for youth soccer tournaments. The motels/hotels/restaurants that are open have a lot activity with soccer players and their parents. We've been down there for the tournaments many years.
