I have a question about bringing my DD (who is 3) on this excursion. Will she "see" any behind the scenes stuff that will ruin any magic for her? We're debating on taking this, and trying to decide if we should bring her along. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Poohbush - When are you going? I can't help you now, but if you don't get any useful answers before then, we are taking this tour on the 23rd, and could get you some info. But I am sure someone on these boards have already gone!

This is the tour that concierge guests from any resort can take at AK park. We're going end of Oct or beginning of Nov. Look forward to any info I can get ahead of time.

Thanks! :)

We are going on this, but not until December so no help from me, I'm afraid. Sorry!

I'm bumping this up for more info. I thought the minimum age for this was 16. Does anyone know for sure? My 11 year old would love to go on that if she can.

I believe the minimum age has been reduced on this tour, but I can't remember to what. When we did it in August there were several young children on the tour. There is definitely nothing that would spoil the magic for a child, we are deciding now if we want to take our kids on it in December. You do go through some backstage areas a little bit, we saw where the hippo tanks were, but you don't see any animals until you are on the savanah. For the most part, it is very similar to the safari ride, except there is a different vehicle and you stop at viewing areas for extended periods and they seem to know where to go to find the animals. There is a CM there also to anwer questions and explain how they feed the animals, etc. It lasts about an hour. I am not sure if we will take the kids, I am not sure the 2 1/2 year old would get much out of it, the older three would love it, though, so I am considering sending DH with them on the tour while I take the baby.

Thanks goodferry for that info! Glad to know that no magic will be spoiled! My itinerary planner told me ages 3 and up, so I'm basing this on what she is telling me. The tour lasts about an hour, and my DD just loves animals, so I think we'll probably take her. Can't wait! :earsboy:
