UGH ... Im trying to plan our upcoming trip.

From what I can tell,

Take the boat to MK (or contemporary)

Take buses elsewhere.

From the monorail, what can I reach? Epcot and what other resorts?

Is it better to take the bus to epcot or the boat then monorail?

We need to get to the boardwalk too ... how would be do this?

Im assuming DTD will be a bus as well, and the water parks.

Im trying to decide if we should just get a car, and DS will be 10 months old and it might just be easier ...

We like to have a car, but it is a personal choice based on hassle and cost factors. There will be a Downtown bus. The two waterparks are tagged onto other buses -- clearly marked. But it does make those trips a little longer because you are stopping at an extra park.

MK by boat also gets you access to all resorts buses -- so you would boat to MK, then bus to Boardwalk (or any resort other than the MK resorts).

MK by boat allows you accesss to the monorail (at MK). For Epcot, you'd need to change monrails at TTC to get on Epcot monorail line. So it may just be best to take the bus to Epcot from WL.

One monorail loop from MK goes between MK and TTC only ("Express"). The other MK monorail loop goes MK-Contemporary-TTC-Poly-GF, and back to MK ("Resort" monorail).

It is pretty simple just as you stated. Boat to MK and buses everywhere else. To get to Boardwalk you can go to TTC then bus to Boardwalk. We find that having a rental car, regardless which resort we stay at, makes our trip a little less stressful overall. Plus, we get to go to the Disney Outlets outside of WDW. :)

Boat to MK and then monorail to Epcot.

Boat to MK and monorail to TTC for DHS....or wait and I mean wait for the bus.

For a deluxe resort, the busing takes forever.

I almost always rent a car, no matter where I'm staying. VWL is no exception.

FYI, there are NO resort buses from the TTC!!!!!

It is not complicated at ALL.

Boat or bus to MK.

Boat to Ft. Wilderness or Contemporary.

Bus to Epcot

Bus to Studios

Bus to Downtown Disney

Bus to Typhoon Lagoon

Bus to Blizzard Beach

To get to monorail resorts around MK, either boat to MK or Contemporary, then monorail to the other resorts.

To get to resorts near Epcot, bus to Studios, then walk or boat to the Epcot resorts.

To get to Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Port Orleans (either one), bus to DTD, then walk, bus, or boat. (You can walk to Saratoga Springs.), bus or boat to the others.

Any other resorts, you need two buses. The transfer points are either a theme park if open, or Downtown Disney.

Nope, it is not. It's on the other side of the lake.

we tend to concentrate on the MK, so staying @ WL is a breeze via the boat service.

during peak times u can't assume u'll get a seat on the bus, i wouldn't want to chance it with a 10 month old.
