Wilderness Lodge ?????

I am staying at the Wilderness Lodge May 6-12 in a Courtyard Room. Can anyone suggest a specific room or floor that I would be able to see the castle?

Does anyone know if there is construction going on there?

The castle is visible from only some of the upper floors over the roof of the other side of the hotel ... One of the things that I love about WL is that you cannot see the other hotels and MK easily from the Lodge. You really feel like you are in another world.

So please don't get your hopes up for a view like you would have from GF, Cont, or the Poly. I still love the view from the courtyard.

As far as I know the only "construction" has been the painting that has been going on and I expect that they are nearly finished.

Lynnmarie, as hoosl said, you can not see the castle from the courtyard view rooms, but the courtyard itself is beautiful. The only thing I would be sure to request is an open balcony. When my DH and I went on our first trip to WL, we had a great view, but a closed balcony, meaning, you could not see anything if you were seated in a chair on the balcony. Very disappointing! I should have requested a different room, as I love to sit on the balcony in the morning and evening, sipping my coffee, but for some strange reason I didn't. I think I was just so happy to be there I didn't feel like complaining about anything.

Anyway, we LOOOOVE WL, so much so that we bought into DVC there. I love everything about it. If you have any other questions, ask away.

I can't help you with courtyard view rooms, but I can tell you that the exterior renovations that are going on at the WL are scheduled to be finished by the end of April, so by the time you get there it should all finished!!
