Spent Thanksgiving week with dh, ds, ddil, and 2 grandkids at ALK concierge. Loved it. Want to go back in Feb for my 50 birthday Will just be me and hubby. Only concierge opening was Wilderness Lodge Don't know much about it How is food How is transportation How is concierge lounge

Hi!

The Wilderness Lodge wonderful! The concierge club is even better. It is very personalized as there are only 50 rooms. It's located on the 7th flor of the main building and it is open from 7am to 10pm. They offer a great variety of food. (PM me your email address and I can send you a list of their "sample" offering of their food.)

The transportation is great to the MK and EPCOT. Which parks do you plan to be at most often? What other type of activities are you thinking of doing? They have bike rental and boat rental at WL. Also, you could head over to Fort Wilderness for a romantic carriage ride!

We've done conceirge at the Poly, Y&B and WL. The best spread, choices and handled was the WL.

Concierge is great, transportation to the parks is only fair, I feel. I was there in 2004 and the bus service seemed pretty pokey and had to make stops at Fort Wilderness as well. Also, I found the boat service tedious. Maybe it's because I get SO excited when I see the castle that I just can't tolerate having to wait for that sputtery engine to get us to the landing and tie off before we can get out and sprint through the gates! LOL

But the transportation is certainly sufficient and the Lodge is so lovely and cozy that it's a small price to pay.

We loved WL when we stayed there in 2005. The lodge is beautiful, and we stayed in a bunk bed room with views of the castle in the distance (woods view), which my dd (8 at the time) LOVED.

We found the transportation to be great--frankly, we all viewed the boat ride to MK as a relaxing theme park ride in itself!

If you loved AKL, I feel fairly certain you'd love WL!

Cali Grill is great. i also LOVE Narcoosses over at the GF. Great food and great view of the fireworks.

I haven't eaten at CA Grill, but I hear it's faboulous! Try and book a table during Wishes. We've watched Wishes many times from the 14th fl concierge lounge. It was SPECTULAR! You'd be one floor above.

Wilderness Lodge is fabulous (not stayed in concierge though). We had our anniversary dinner at Cal Grill this august and it was to die for. The best pork in WDW! And our server was brill, lovely place for a celebration dinner.

OP you might vist Deb's Unoffical Disney site and look at the WL pictures. In this collection of photographs you will find photos 39-52 petain to the Club, so your expectation of a lounge are aligned with what their referring to as a lounge.

The food offerings are basic with the food deriving from the resort's restaurants. The berry cobbler was great as the blueberries were very fresh and tasty. Overall, we found some other Clubs maintain the food line better but we found the staff to be prompt and responsive if you have a need.

Fastest transportation options from the resort will be buses...even to the MK. Try the boat but if you hit it off cycle you will need to wait.

California Grill is an excellent choice for your birthday
