My wife and I are planning to utilize a time-share arrangement that a friend of my wife's has. Personally, I have always been skeptical of time-shares and the high-pressure sales presentations that often occur. However, I can deal with that if I know that the Wilderness Lodge Villas are really nice. I suppose that we would have access to the Wilderness Lodge also. I have heard very good things about the "Wilderness Lodge" but have heard nothing about the villas.

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas in May by renting points from a member. As for high-pressure sales presentations, there is none of that. When you walk into the Villas section of the lodge there is a DVC deck but all the salespersons ever did was smile and welcome you! You'll see DVC desks often in the parks and resorts but they are just there to answer any questions you may have about the Vacation Club. The Villas are right next to the Lodge connect by a covered walkway. To me it felt like one resort, the villas are just more relaxing and quiet, IMO. Have a great stay!

Me too. I hate high pressure sales tactics... but you'll find none of that with DVC. We gladly subjected ourselves to two presentations.... after we inquired about them. They won't chase you into one. If you go, you'll get a detailed explaination of the program, see model rooms/villas, and then asked what questions you have. We were never even asked for a "yes/no" decision. The folks at the DVC desks and kiosks will do nothing more than say "Hi" to you unless you engauge them. The presentations are "zero pressure" from a vast number of personal reports you will read. I think Disney understand the "sleaze" factor that is all too common in the timeshare business and has wisely steered clear of it.

They can also be some generous "thank yous" for going to a presentation. The first time we went, they gave us $60 worth of meal vouchers. When we went to WL last month, there was an offer in the room that you'd be given $100 worth of Disney Dollars for attending a presentation. We wanted to talk to the agent we saw in January anyway, and set up an appointment. The gal at the DVC desk in WL said we'd get the $100, we said we already did an open house in January and didn't want to "double-dip". She smiled and said it would be "no problem". Bottom line, we bought into VWL.
