Wilderness Lodge Villas-7 months out

I'm sorry to say, not very likely. It's one of the smaller resorts and extremely popular at Christmas. It never hurts to try though as long as you have a back-up reservation.

Very well put.

I'll add that getting ANY of the DVC resorts for that week at 7 months out is pretty slim other than going on a waitlist and hoping. It is an extremely popular week for all resort bookings at WDW, including DVC.

We are bringing the inlaws for their very first WDW visit in over 30 years. FIL would absolutely go nuts for the WL. However, since we are visiting the first week of December and own SSR, we have resigned ourselves that we are likely to be staying there (don't get me wrong, I love SSR, just VWL are so my FIL). I'll give a call at 7 months, but I am not going to hold out too much hope.

It is absolutely beautiful during holiday season:cloud9:

if you have enough points to book day by day & hold existing ressie you may have an edge

know we were unable to book 1st week of Dec. in the past (studio or 1BR) just a few weeks into the 11 month window.

were able to secure the 2nd though

good luck:wizard:

is VWL and we decided to do Christmas this year prior to our New Years eve cruise. I went ahead and booked a one bedroom villa day by day checking in December 22nd and checking out December 27th. I called right around 8-8:10 and was able to get a 1 bedroom with no issues. However, I have the 11 month advantage and I was nervous about securing my room.

I really do wish you luck in trying but if you are resigned to going to Disney at Xmas you should book at your home resort and then right on the dot at 7 months try and get it moved over to VWL.

We have tried to book VWL (7 months out) for the first 2 weeks in December, with no luck.

Very popular resort at Christmas time.

What do you think my chances are to get a 1 Bedroom @ the 7 month window for December 6-16? I have VAKL now, which is great but was hoping to get VWL because we have a stroller and a wheelchair so the boat ride to MK, instead of the bus, would be great.

I think the second quote answers the first. It doesn't mean don't try for it...it just means don't get the hopes up too much.

As hinted at above there are ways to improve your chances of getting what you want but it does require more points. If you don't have enough points to have two reservations just wait listing the entire reservations is about the best you can do and hope for the best. IFyou're willing to move around or have enough points for part of the days you could do a day by day wait list.

Got twice now in the first 2 weeks of May, at the 7 month. STUDIO

Last year we booked WL at 7 months out for Dec 23rd to Dec 27th in a 1 bedroom. It is beautiful during Christmas time.

We tried to book VWL for T-giving 2007...went on the waitlist at exactly 7 mo. and it never came through. We did, however, treat ourselves to dinner at Artist Point on T-giving day and enjoyed the beauty of the resort for the evening. So maybe you could at least visit the lodge if you do not get in there. Truly a place for the holidays.

Bottom line - we purchased an add-on at VWL just so we could get the holiday season and booked our first trip home (to VWL) this past week at the 11 mo. mark. I was nervous calling day by day for that ressie but all worked out fine.

I wish you lots of luck!! Keep us posted.
