Wilderness Lodge transportation tips

It will be my family’s first time staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Boulder Creek we will be staying there in July. We like getting to the parks at Rope Drop. I’m assuming bus service would be our best option if we want to get to the parks early and when we visit MK we can take the boat ride to the resort on the way back? Any tips regarding transportation to and from the parks from The Wilderness Lodge is much appreciated! Thanks!

The boat to MK starts 30 minutes before opening, but the boat to CR starts at 6:45. So you could take the bus, or you could take the boat to CR and walk to MK.

The boats to CR are the small boats with a step down, so they do not take ecv's, nor unfolded strollers or wheelchairs. These boats are completely open-sided, so if it's a cold morning (there are some in January in Orlando), bundle up.

Thank you so much for the info. I just started looking into transportation and wasn’t aware of the small boat to CR so that didn’t even cross my mind. My kids are 18, 16, and 11 we won’t have strollers or ECV’s or anything like that so a small boat wouldn’t be an issue for us. I really appreciate the info! Thanks again!

Between Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom (either direction), the bus ride is shorter than the boat ride, and the wait for a bus is shorter than the wait for a boat. Only take the boat if you don't care when you arrive.

Which way is best to AK from WL?

Your only direct option from WL to DAK (the theme park) is via bus. Taxi/ride share/Minnie Van would be alternatives if you want to pay.
