Wilderness Lodge Tour

Hi All,
Leaving in 9 Days!! Aaah!! Can't wait! I read about a Wilderness Lodge Tour on these boards that covers the architecture of the building. My eleven year old son is very much into architecture (plans to be an architect one day. He's actully pretty good!) and would love to go on this tour. Can anyone give me info about it? When is the tour offered? How long does it last? How much it costs? If you need to be a hotel guest? (We are staying off-site). Can I make a reservation for the tour? I'd appreciate any help! Cindy, I took the tour about three years ago. Someone that has taken it more recently, may have other information.

The tour started at 9:00am or 9:30am in front of the guest services desk, in the lobby of the WL. There is no cost and you don't have to be a guest of the resort. The tour lasted about one hour. No reservations are needed, just show up. I would call the guest services desk and ask about the time and whether it is offered each day. At one time it was conducted daily, but with the cutbacks, that may have changed. I believe the afternoon tour has been cancelled, which was a food tour.

We went on the tour in March. It is in the morning and only certain days. We went on a Wed. or Thurs. The tour lasted 45 minutes. Ranger Stan talked about the building and history of the lodge. We went upstairs to about the 4th floor and overlooked the lobby for him to explain the symbolism of the floor design. It is a very interesting tour. I think it is Wed-Fri or Sat. Please call to double check. Also check the time, it was at 9 or 9:30.
