Has anyone been on the Sleigh Ride before? Is it fun? We have planned to take the kids on it. I was wondering if they would enjoy it. I know hubbie and I will. How long does it last?

I believe it's a carraige, but when I called today to make a reservation I asked to make ressie's for the carraige ride and she corrected me and said you mean Sleigh ride?

I can only imagine it would be a carriage. How on earth could they get all that snow their to do a sleigh ride?

WooHoo! I just booked it for my kids and I for Christmas day! The CM said it's a horse-drawn sleigh, but it has little (hidden) wheels. We're having Christmas dinner at WCC at the WL followed by this sleigh ride. What a magical Christmas day this will be! FYI, the CM at disney dining knew nothing about this sleigh ride at all, so be sure to call the number posted above. She said they've only been taking reservations for this since Monday, so call now to get your preferred time!

:( This sounds wonderful. I wish we were going around Christmas time!

Please take pictures and post them if you go. Thanks:D

Made ressies for DW and I to take the sleigh ride on Dec. 7 at 6:00 pm. We will be staying at the WL. We're looking forward to it.

Do y'all think making advance reservations is necessary? I was hoping we could go and make a reservation the day we wanted to do it. Do you think we'd be unlikely to get a slot?

i think it would depend on the date and time you would want to do the sleigh ride. i am wondering if it is the same route as the carriage ride at FW.

We live in northern Illinois, raise horses, and regularly hitch a team for bob sled rides in the winter. Sometimes even we don't have enoungh snow for a sleigh ride and have to hitch to a wagon. You will have a great time -- but one of the joys of the ride is seeing the snow fly as the horses trot through it and feeling the spray of cold snow on your face. Maybe they have some type of Disney magic to recreate that feeling.;) ;)

WOO HOO!
Just booked a sleigh ride for Dec. 28. Yet another thing I have to try and keep a secret. I am so cranked I can't stand it!!!
::yes:: :hyper: ::yes::

This sounds like a great thing to do! Thank you for the information. I had no idea this was happening, I hope we can squeeze it in!

OMG! Thank you so much for all this info. I was able to book it for Christmas night. Im keeping it a surprise for DH & the kids and it will be a Santa gift. I think I will burst keeping this from everyone. :jumping1:

What time is your sleigh ride on Christmas? Our's is for 5:30 pm; maybe we'll cross paths! I'll have to be sure to bring covered styrofoam cups of hot chocolate for the kids and I along for the ride~~of course mine will be laced w/ peppermint schnaaps! :p

CamColt

I know what you mean, I'm so glad these boards give us the opportunity to tell somebody, when the secret keeping becomes just too much to handle.
I'm still 5 weeks away and I'm losing the ability to maintain eye contact with my own family because I start grinning and giggling. I may have to start a Secret Keeper Club thread, where we could log on in moments of desperation and blurt out our Disney secrets, less we explode.

I sent you a pm earlier, then another telling you to ignore the first, LOL! You must not have gotten them. ;)
We ended up getting it for 6:00, so we should definitely see you.
Good plan. I know they said you can bring your own drinks, but I wonder if we could get a drink from the bar in the WL to go.

The more I think of it, its kind of funny. I live in New England and yet Im going on a sleigh ride in Florida. :scratchin :teeth:

Good idea Swampkatz..a Spill Your Disney Secret Board. :teeth:

Sorry CamColt! I never think to check my PM. Glad you got your reservation! If you see me, say hello; I'll be the frazzled-looking (or tipsy looking, depending on how many of those hot chocolates I have ;) ) woman with 5 kids in tow! :hyper:

I have ours booked for the 19th. In addition to the trip, I am going to suprise my son with the ride on his birthday. We are going at 10:00 pm. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :hyper: :hyper:
