I have a question regarding a standard view room at the WL. Typically what is your view from a standard room? Also, is it very noisy? I noticed that their are rooms whose doors face the lobby are they very noisy? Thanks for any help!

We stayed at the WL Dec. 11-17 in a standard view room. We were on the fifth floor and at first glance all we saw were trees, a parking lot, and a small pond. With the smoke house being right out back, we could smell the aroma in our room. It wasn't until the evening that we noticed the castle through the trees! Although the tree tops obstructed much of the view, it was still a nice surprise. My sister was in the room next door and her view was completely different. She could see the Contemporary and the monorail track. Hope that helps.

I don't know what all the views are for standard rooms but some standard view rooms definitely overlook the service area in the back of the resort. I've stated before that a parking lot or road view would not bother me, but I really couldn't stand the loading area. Trucks would back up as early as 6:00 a.m. with that beeping noise.

Last visit we had a courtyard view and that was very nice.

Unfortunately, a courtyard view is out of the budget but hopefully we will not be near the service area

. . . kitchen deliveries

. . . woods
. . . some MK views of HIGH fireworks

2) Standard rooms also used to be of other woods areas.
3) Those rooms were reclassified as "Woods View" three years ago.
4) This allowed for more revenue.
5) It was also the reason why so many upgrades occurred at WL.
6) They needed to keep people in Standard rooms that didn't exist any more.
7) That scheduling problem has been fixed now, so reduced amount of upgrades.
8) People used to brag about their upgrade, never knowing it was the same room.
9) Sure, TRUE upgrades still happen, but very few.

We also had a standard view, and from our 6th floor room we could see the Castle. It was magical, we loved it. The only negative was that on one of our four nights we could hear the service trucks, it was really annoying. It was very difficult to sleep once the noise started. Not sure if I would pay top price to avoid that, because I really enjoyed having the castle view. Maybe I would need to bring earplugs instead.

We had a room on the 6th floor facing the CR and the castle. I thought it was awesome. Sure, it was overlooking a service area, but it didn't bother us in the least bit.
