I have a question about the pool at Wilderness Lodge. We will be visiting the Wilderness Lodge from 4/5/2010 - 4/8/2010. Will the swimming pool be warm enough for swimming each day? Does anyone know the pool temp now? Also what are the WL pool hours?

We are looking forward to going swimming but are unsure if the pool water will be warm enough this early in the year. :fish:

Thank you!

WELCOME TO THE DIS!:)

It all depends on the individual and what temperatures they live in.:)

The Pools at WDW are heated, but I am not sure of the exact temperature.

By April,it is "possible" the "air" temperature could be in the 80s.

To my knowledge, all WDW pools are open 24/7,but when the lifeguards leave for the day,the Slides are closed to Guests.:)

We were there 2/28 - 3/5 and we had one warm day (70 degrees) and went for a swim and the water was fine- the pools are heated, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure on the hours though - you might be able to find that in the WL information thread.

We were there January 19-22, 2010 and it was beautiful. 1/22 it was 80 and I can home with a sunburn. The pool is just beautiful and with the stream running in it gives a little resistance. The hot tubs at night were perfect. The one on the right (closest to the pool) is warmer than the other, back then anyway. Was in the pool/hot tubs at 10 pm. Just an outstanding setting!! Enjoy yourselves.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thank you to all. I had no idea the pools were heated as necessary. We are very excited about swimming in the pools and will definitely be packing the swimsuits. Thanks again to all that responded!pixiedust::fish:

Pools are typically heated to about 82 degrees.

Lifeguard hours can vary but generally speaking from about 10a to 10p (or similar) .. you can still go in the pool after 10pm but Disney asks to be respectful of other guests and keep the noise down.

Any children going to the pool after 10p must be accompanied by an adult. If none is present security *can* ask the kids to leave the pool area and not return without adult supervision. (it happens, I've seen it)

Thanks,

K

This was the case when we were there, too. We also used the hot tub over by the "quiet pool" (near the villas), and it was the hottest and biggest of them all! We enjoyed talking to all the nice DVC people in it every night!

We were there April 16 - April 23 in 2008, it was in the upper 80s and beautifully sunny all that week but it was chilly when you stepped out of the pool. We stayed at POR and that pool has some shaded areas which probably did not help.

The pools are heated, so you should be fine.

My son and I went swimming at the Polynesian this last February when air temps were in the low 30s! The water was fine, but it was really cold getting out. (Yes, we were determined to go swimming!)

As far as hours go, we've been swimming and used the hot tubs as late as 1:30 a.m. at WL. When we stay there, we always go swimming after a day at the parks. The slides are closed after the lifeguards leave, though.

If you go swimming in the early morning (after sunrise), you'll be sharing the pool with the ducks. :)
