Wilderness Lodge or Coronado?

My husband and I are planning a quick Memorial Day trip and have reservations for Sat.-Mon. at Wilderness Lodge. We just found out that we are able to leave a day earlier so can arrive on Friday afternoon instead. Looking at availability, it would be about $450 to add an additional night at Wilderness Lodge which is a bit more than I would like. I am looking at either adding Friday night at a Disney Springs hotel or a Value resort or changing our entire reservation over to Coronado. Although we love WL, I am leaning toward switching to CSR because I hate to waste time switching resorts with such a short trip but I can't justify spending that much more for just one night. It looks like the construction is pretty much done? We do like to spend some time at the resort. Will we still be able to enjoy our resort time there or would we be better off just doing the split stay?

I like CSR......the parks will be crazy, so you will enjoy the peace and quiet at CSR especially in the Rancho's section or the Cabana's section....The resort will likely not have any big conventions in over Memorial Day....go for it...the pool and hot tub are great!

WL is one of our favorites! We wouldn't switch it to CSR. If I had to and wanted DME I'd stay at the value for a night. We stayed a night at CSR last year and it was the least impressive night I've had at WDW. Out room was not refurbished yet so, so that added to the disappointment, but there were other factors which made us not want to stay there again; i.e. bus service was slow and has to make 4 stops around the resort, food was only ok, resort is huge, to name a few.

I wouldn’t move either on a short trip. It’s just a hassle. I would go to Corando and be perfectly happy.

Where can I find the convention calendar at? I would like to know what is going on when I am there in September. Thanks

If you think you will miss the lodge i would suggest the move. For me, Disneyworld ismt the same if i dont stay at my favorite resorts. Ill feel like i was missing something. Luckily, disney makes moving easy and transports your bag for you. Just remember checkin is at 4 so if you will be in the parks until 4 then it shouldnt effect you.

I would stay at CSR. It is a beautiful, centrally located resort. And, yes, the work is very close to completed, so it shouldn't bother you at all. Have a wonderful trip!!!!

Thanks so much everyone! We did decide to go ahead and save the money and try out CSR but those pics of WL sure make me homesick! Maybe we will sneak over for a visit anyway.

Normally I would say WL, but the rooms are really showing their age. On the other hand the CSR rooms have been nicely refurbished. The only drawback to CSR is outdoor corridors, but rain is usually not a huge issue in May.

We always go over to WL at least one night of our trips. Geyser Point is our favorite spot to decompress, have some food and drinks, and enjoy the resort some.

For me, I'd choose WL every day of the week and twice on Sunday. It's simply my favorite resort. But with you having already decided on CSR, you will still enjoy your stay there.

WL is great..but its so hard to justify spending $$ on a room. We visit a deluxe resort almost every trip. But, we almost always stay at either POP or POFQ. The money saved is just so substantial.
