Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club

My family and I have stayed at both WL and BC and loved them both.
At the BC you will not feel out of place. Like others have said it's not hoitty at all. We are going back in 08' summer and my DH (penny watcher) is paying the extra$$$$ to be able to walk back at night after pixiedust: illuminations. There is no better feeling than being able to come and go without having to wait for a bus or a boat. Also I feel with the other hotels in the are BW Swan and Dolphin you would be able to walk around and enjoy a cocktail or two at the different lounges.
As for the pool I think it may be to cold in December to use. But the sand is not a turn off. It's actually kind of cool. It's not like at the beach were it's all over you. Sorry for the rambling. My vote is the Beach Club:) :mickeyjum

WOW! I really appreciate everyone's input. Does anyone have anymore info on the bus-sharing at each of the 2 resorts? I seem to be finding different info in different sites/books.

How and when would I be able to book the sleigh ride at the WL? Still wondering about the bus-sharing, too... :confused3

For me it would come down to how much time do you want to spend at Epcot? Last fall we stayed at a rental home and spent a lot of time at Epcot. We would park at the Boardwalk and walk right over. I loved doing that. We just enjoyed so much walking around the different countries.

We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it is gorgeous. We loved going down to the lake (or is it a lagoon) and enjoying the quiet there. We also rented the little speed boats which are a blast. Just walking around the Wilderness Lodge is a delight, so much attention to detail.

The Artist's Point restaurant is yumo!

Not looking to cause trouble, but as a DVC owner at the BW, you really shouldn't be doing this. Technically, BW parking is for BW resort guests or guests having dinner on the BW - it is NOT to be used for those visiting Epcot. Now, I know alot of people probably get away with doing this but it still doesn't make it right. There is a sign when you pull up to the gate stating the policy for the resort parking - using BW parking to visit Epcot takes parking spaces away from the guests who are paying to stay at the BW.

eeyore29 - Sorry I can't help you re: the sleigh ride at WL - never have done it.

Just for the heck of it I had DH call to see if there were any discount codes attached to our names and guess what? THERE WAS! And it was a 40% off code at that! We got the Beach Club at $195 per night so we couldn't turn that down, that's a $1,000 savings! Beach Club here we come! :woohoo:

Not to worry, WL fans we still plan to dine there one night and take the sleigh ride, too! We're both so EXCITED now! :hyper:

Thank you all for advice & opinions! Once again, you DISer's have outdone yourselves! :disrocks:
