For all of you who have stayed:cutie: at the WL.

I'm looking into staying at the Wilderness Lodge Resort in 2013 for 2 older (50ish/ 60ish:rotfl:) adults only(DH :lovestruc& Me).

What month would be better(less crowds, things to do:wizard:)
May 19 -25 or Oct 20 -26 ? .

Which month gives you the better room only discount(s):teacher:,
or free dining :cloud9:.

Which has the nicer view: standard room or wood room ??:confused3.
please let me know.TIA:thumbsup2

Oh, before I forget,
which level has the best view for fire workspixiedust:pixiedust:

October is the way to go crowd-wise and with the lower crowds come a better chance for a discount. (http://www.undercovertourist.com/pl...s-calendar_may-2012.html#disney-opening-hours)

To see the fireworks you will need a woods view over otter pond or off the lobby. A standard view on that side would put you over the service area and you might hear beeping from delivery trucks backing in. http://users.hartwick.edu/heydukr/wlrooms.htm

You'll need to be on the 4th floor or higher to have much of a chance to see fireworks above and through the trees. It's not a spectacular view, but at least you can see them.

I have stayed in both a standard and woods view room on the otter pond side of the resort. If you can afford it, go with the woods view and request a high floor 5 or 6 are the best. You will be away from the loading docks and should be able to see most of the fireworks. It is a short walk to the elevator down to Roaring Forks the Quick Service restaurant, the pool and the boat dock.

If you go in October, you will also be able enjoy the Food and Wine festival at Epcot.

It is very very warm in late May.

We have stayed in both a woods view and water view (overlooking the pool). I would never again pay extra for a room overlooking the pool. We tend to come back to the room to rest in the afternoon. When we were in our room (4th floor overlooking the pool)resting, I kept hearing music and someone speaking. I went out on the balcony and noticed that there were pool games going on. We couldn't really enjoy our balcony because of the noise. The noise could even be heard in the room with the balcony door shut. It really defeated one of the reasons we chose WL - the ambience and ability to sit on the balcony mid-afternoon resting and reading.
