wilderness lodge, filthy rooms at check in

Is the housekeeping staff on strike @ Disney? We have been members since 1993. We gave our daughter & son-n-law a mini vacation using our points. They checked intp the Wilderness Lodge Villas at 5:30 pm and were told that their studio room was not ready, to check back later. They kept checking back and finally at 7:30 they were told the room was ready. They walked in to find the room as if someone had been there already. Empty water bottles, lollypop wrappers, the bed looking like someone had been jumping on it. The soap in the bathroom had been used and had HAIR on it. They called the front desk and requested someone come and take care of it. An HOUR later a guy showed up and straightened up the place, althought, he had to be told to clean the bathroom. They were comped a dinner, but even that got off to a late start due to the inconvience of not being able to shower until 9pm. What's going on????

That's NOT AT ALL acceptable, if I were you I would call Member Services and complain, I'd also complain to the WLV manager, as well as the housekeeping manager.... They comped them dinner when their room wasn't even ready til 9pm? No way, I'd want my points back... I don't say that lightly, but your daughter & her husband literally lost the first day/night of their stay....

If I were you, I would call as soon as possible and tell MS the whole story. I would have talked to the Mgr of VWL that night of check-in, and "DEMANDED" a refund of points for that night. There is no way they should have waited until 7:30 pm to get in there villa DVC is not known for doing these type of things, and I would think they would want to rectify the the situation as soon as possible.

I would let them know about the condition and timing of everything. With that, tell them you want to be reimbursed for the points for that day/night!! That is totally unacceptable!!
