I am planning a trip to Disney in mid-September with my husband, daughter and father-in-law. We have pretty much decided to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, but not sure if we should go with a 1-bedroom villa or a Deluxe room. Any pros/cons to either?

editted to add: that my daughter is only 3 and we had planned on having her sleep in the bedroom with us. I was assuming that we could get a rollaway for her or something.

Doesn't sound like a 1br would work for you unless your daughter and father in-law want to be stuck in the same bed. The one br villa only has a king bed and pull out sofa.

The deluxe room has 2 queens and a pull out sofa.

You would probably need a 2 br villa. A deluxe would be much cheaper. You don't get the kitchen but I personally don't do a lot of cooking while on vacation.

2br for November is $535
Deluxe for November is $370

These prices may change with codes or AP rates.

I was offered a rate of $368/nt at WL in a deluxe with a DC or AAA discount.

This is just my opinion but I think you would probably end up with a better view if you were in a deluxe. Several posters have talked about being able to see the water parade right from their balconies. I don't know what the views are in the villas but you are more likely to be looking at the quiet pool or the woods.

Good Luck.

If price isn't an issue, there is no question you should take the villa. A one or two bedroom villa is like having an apartment, compared to a hotel room. In addition to the kitchen (which comes in awfully handy, even if you're not going to cook in the room), you get a washer-dryer (which lets you cut down on how much you pack), a jacuzzi tub, a vcr and 2 or 3 balconies. The amount of space you have is amazing. With sleeping arrangements, you probably would need the 2-bedroom, though. Another plus- two bathrooms.

On the other hand, while you can technically fit all of you into 1 deluxe hotel room, it sounds like it would be an awfully tight fit.

You can also go to disneyworld.com.

They have the room layout of the deluxe room under the resorts section. It has the sleeping area and then the living area.

Occasionally, discounts are offered on villas. I was offered a DC and AAA discount at OKW for October. It wouldn't hurt to ask about these when you make a reservation if you have AAA or are a member of Disney Club.

Good luck
