How many stops are involved when going from WL to Epcot & MGM? I was there for half my stay in December and the bus going to DTD stopped at GF before going to DTD...what a hassle. The bus going to AK stopped at fort wilderness before going to AK. So, how many stops are involved in going to Epcot & MGM?

Going to EPCOT or MGM from WL, we usually seemed to stop at either FW or at GF and Poly on the way. The GF/Poly stops were much, much faster than the FW stops, but I don't think I ever saw them do both stops on one trip, fortunately. After that, I don't think there are any more stops. I've stayed at WL, Poly and BC and I think WL has better bus service (not overall transportation service) than the other two by far. I've never found the stops at GF or Poly to be a hassle. They're some of the quicker stops in all of WDW.

If you consider the less then 5 minute diversion for one addition stop to be a hassle, then I would recommend renting a car.

The Studios bus will stop at either GF or FW Settlement depending on the time of day. Epcot will always be FW Outpost. Either way, all three stops are on the way to the destination.

Huh, I didn't know this and actually I am kinda excited about it. That means I will get to ride through FW on this trip. Sounds good to me as I would like to see it.

But this is a laid back trip for us and we don't really care when we get where we are going!

Our bus to epcot stopped @ FW, where we sat & waited for a large party to "get it together".

Don't think it's fair to hold up a bus waiting for people to arrive. If you're not @ the stop (or @ least in sight) don't think everyone should have to wait on a few stragglers...if you want to ride the same bus, get on together people.

Well, yeah that would really annoy me. Even in unhurried mode that is very irritating and I can totally see why you were frustrated. Definitely doesn't seem right.

thanks for responding...my "hassle" I was referring to at GF....well we were going to DTD and stopped at GF, upon leaving the gate wouldn't go up and let the bus out of GF...20 minutes later they finally fixed the gate to let us out!!!

I'm just trying to decide if I want to go back to WL or try the Poly with the monorail. I understand sometimes the monorail can be just as time consuming.

Trying to weigh the options.... :confused3

That explains the hassle better. Yes, I think I too would define waiting on a GF gate for 20 minutes as a hassle. Typically, though, you're in and out of GF so quickly you're left wishing for more time to look the resort over as you drive by.

Now, about the resort monorail. If you're wanting to get back to Poly from GF, I'd walk. It's maybe a 10-minute walk. However, if you take the monorail to the Poly, you have to ride through MK first then wait for the crowds there, ride next to the TTC (another wait) and finally to the Poly last. Walking from GF to the Poly would be faster. There's a nice path next to the beach.

If you have time it would be more pleasant to take the GF boat to MK, then ride the same boat to the Poly (Poly and GF share boats), or switch boats to ride over to WL. JMHO.

Unfortunately, there's not an easy or safe walk to WL from the Poly or the TTC. I wish there was, and I've suggested this often to anyone at WDW who will listen.

The gate issue, that's a random fluke... and is just as likely to happen at WL than GF or any other resort. It shouldn't weigh in at all in any decision for a future stay.
