General Questions about the buses. I've heard that WL can be a transpo nightmare. Would it be quicker to drive ourselves? Plan on going to all4 parks at one time or anothr during that stay, which would be easier to drive to? TIA

I have NEVER had a problem with the WL busses...I did notice this past Feb and May that they seemed much faster, but overall, I never had a problem!

We found the transportation better from WL than from our 2 stays at the CR.

Our waits for the buses and boats were short. WL was the 1st pick-up, then GF then the park. Coming home, the bus stopped at FW, then WL.

You're on vacation, relax & enjoy!

We stay at WL all the time and hardly ever take a bus. We take the boat to MK, the boat and then the monorail to Epcot and when we go to MGM we start at Epcot and take the boat over. AK is our only bus. It sure beats the busses at the moderates and value where the bus fills up before it gets to your stop.

I have stayed in most resorts at WDW and I have had fewer problems while staying at WL then any other Resort...so no I never drive anywhere when staying at WL...I can't say the same about other resorts though.

I actually have to disagree here. We've stayed the past 2 years at WL and we have driven to each park. This allows us to leave when we want to and not have to wait in any lines for buses or boats. What we actually do is book a character breakfast at Contemporary and then walk from there to the MK. It's really great. However, sometimes we get an hourly parking pass and have to leave but it does work sometimes. As far as the other parks, we just go and park there...

We did this once...went to the boardwalk for lunch...and then walked to Epcot and/or MGM. It gets your exercise in for the day!

We are WLV members & spend several weeks each year there. We earlier were at ASMo & ASM & POR & CONT. Boat transport to MK generally excellent -- can be terrible after MK fireworks & sometimes slow in mid-day. Great connection to TTC. Generally good bus service to AK, Epcot, MGM. Fun to take boat around lakes.

WL is one of my favorite resorts, and transportation is one reason I like it so much! The boat ride to the MK, and the smaller boats that run between FW and CR are a big plus. I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a bus to a park, but that was when we saw the bus we needed driving off when we got there.

We've stayed at WL during our last two trips to WDW and never had any problems with the buses. If you just miss the bus you were aiming for you may have a 20 - 25 minute wait until the next one for your destination arrives.

Another important point about the bus system is venturing out for dinner at another resort. There is no direct bus service to most other resorts so if you want to dine at the AKL and want to be there at 8 pm you'll have to take the bus to say... Downtown Disney and then another bus to AKL. In that case you'll need to plan for an hour each way.

What is the boat rotation of stops? (Like for monorail, where do they go and what order.) Does the boat go to both MK and TTC? Thanks.

The MK boat rotation is from the WL is WL to MK to FW to WL before 3:00 pm. After 3:00 pm it is WL to FW to MK to WL. No boat goes to TTC from WL, but a bus does. WL and FW are the only two WDW resorts served by the TTC.

Someone else will know more about the boat from WL to CR than me.

We just stayed at VWL for a week, and had no complaints about the bus. It was off season, so they were mostly empty. Going to DD we were the first stop, going back they only made the DD stops & right back to the resort.

The day we had a PS at the MK, we were told to get on the TTC bus (the boats weren't running yet), and rather than going to the TTC, they brought us right to the front gate!

We had 2 kids and a double stroller ~ no problems!

We have had good bus service during our GF Swan and CR stays. The only problem we had (and this was my fault)was trying to get from MK to BC. It was just really convoluted, wound up riding th emonorail to EPCOT then hiking through the International Gateway while listening to DH rant about us losing our PS at Cape May. Thye we went to YC first, boy he was boiling ::yes:: ::yes:: We must have waited at the BC for 30 minutes for a bus back to CR. Think we'll drive our vehicle if we do that again. Thanks again!

We just returned from a WL stay and found the buses to be a little on the slow side in the morning, but the return was always fine. We were sharing a bus with the Grand Floridian which I thought was a little strange. The bus would pick up at WL first and then go to GF. This may be why I felt things were slower in the morning. Also, the bus to Animal Kingdom stopped at Blizzard Beach first. However, for us taking a bus everywhere is a nice change of pace and we prefer waiting a few minutes over driving at Disney. The boats were great!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
