Can anyone tell me if the Wilderness cabins are a good place to stay? I am looking for somewhere with a kitchen and so this looked like a good choice.

We liked it. We stayed a week so the kitchen saved us plenty on meal money. Decorated nice. Plenty of space for us, nice size deck and great to park at our room. We did go in winter and therefore were not interested in the pool - which was not themed. And we did not use any of the amentities there, our plans were all outside the campground.

Post on the campground board and you may get more feedback.

I really enjoyed staying in the cabins, they were very nice!

My only real complaint is the transportation system. You need to take the loop bus to the main campground bus to the main resort bus stop, to then take yet another bus to the parks (except MK, you take a boat). It can take forever! I'd go through the trouble of renting a car, and drive to the parks each day if I ever stay in the cabins again.

Otherwise, I loved it!

After a day in the parks, it was nice to get away from everyone. Plus, FW has pony rides, Chip and Dales campfire sing-a-long (free), Hoop-De-Doo and Mickey's Backyard BBQ (seasonal). But we probably overpaid in the fact we didn't fully utilize the amenities of the cabin, ie separate den and kitchen, deck or outside grill.

Ditto on the transportation issue. By the end of the week, the routine of catching a bus to catch another bus got old. Luckily, we were given a handicap cabin, which put us closest to the bus stop.

If you're looking for a kitchen or kitchenette, compare the cost with renting DVC.
