:earboy2: Will be staying at the Wilderness Cabins for the first time. Should I be aware of any "bad" locations, or any "preferred" locations?

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

I have read people suggesting to request a cabin 2 or 3 in the loop off from the main road. When we went in January, I didn't request this and I wish we did. Our cabin was the furthest one away in the loop off from the main road (where the bus stop is). I guess if you are planning to rent a golf cart, then this won't be an issue. But if you are planning on just walking to the bus stop, then definitely request a close cabin. With a 4 and 6 year old, it took us well over 5 minutes to walk from the bus stop to our cabin. A couple of times I had to wake up sleeping children from the bus and carry one of them back to the cabin.

HTH. :)

Some loops have significantly less cabins than others, making the walk to the bus stop shorter. You can look at the resort map at allearsnet.com & pick one of those loops. That is our plan for our Dec. ressies.

We were in the middle of the 2600 loop. It is a large loop and this put us far off the main road. We liked this because we didnt get any of the bus noise from the main road. We did have a golf cart, so walking to the bus stop was not an issue. If you are going to have a cart, being deeper into the loop may be nicer.

We very much enjoyed the 2500 loop. We were the 2nd cabin in on the left, and we were literally steps from the bus stop, pool, basketball court, and laundry room. I think the advice about whether or not you'll have a golf cart is good advice as to how far in the loop you want to be.

Good Luck, and I think you will LOVE the cabins. We sure did.

We have always requested a cabin close to the beginning or end of the loop - actually, this is what DH likes.

Well, on our trip a few weeks ago we were in the 2100 loop, the very last cabin. It was across the street from the bus stop & it was noisy. Woke me up at 6 a.m. one morning - & I didn't want to be up!!!!! :sad2:

Anyway, check the maps to see where the bus stop is before you say "yes" to a cabin. We have always had a cabin on or near the end in the other loops & never had this problem, but in the 2100 loop we sure did!!!
