HI, Happy Easter to you all!
I am taking a trip to Disney for a romantic weekend getaway with my DH for his birthday :bday: ...first time in 12 years with out the kids..YEA!!!! It is a last minute trip planned just last week for 4/8-4/10. We are staying at the WL (woods view) and I was thinking of requesting a room that would over look the lobby and possibly the MK Castle. We just love sitting on our balcony on vacations and I thought to walk out in front of our room and be able to sit in the rocking chairs would be really nice too. I am wondering if you can even see the Castle/firworks/monorail from rooms overlooking the lobby.
If any of you have some tips and recomendations on this view I would be really grateful. Also, could you make some suggestions on what exactly to ask the Disney Reservation Center (floor, room numbers etc.)in order to try and reserve the room we want. I do realize this is just a request and it may not be granted but I figure if I don't ask I won't get!
Thank you!

I have only stayed at the WL once so I could be wrong about this but I don't think any Lobby rooms will have a view of the kingdom.

The lobby is in the front while the rooms overlooking MK are in the back.

We were in room 7048 (or 7042 can't remember exactly) and had a view of MK which was great. We slept with the patio doors open and were able to watch Wishes those nights that we were in the room early. The 7th floor is concierge but I would imagine that the room numbers run similarly on the floors underneath. From what I've heard you need to be on at least the 4th floor in order to be able to see over the trees to MK.

You will really enjoy WL, as you can see in my sig., it was really the best trip we ever took.

I agree. I would also like to know if you can see MK from the Wilderness Lodge. Can you get a nice view of the fireworks from any of the rooms? :earsgirl:

Call CRO (or who ever made your reservations) and put in a request for room #: 5032. You will not be disappointed. Click the link below for pictures of this room and the view I had. Totally worth any wait!! It's close to the lobby and the elevator, but I found it very quiet. It's also a quick walk to the boat and a little longer of a walk to the buses.

WOW! Great photos. Makes me want to stay at the Wilderness Lodge next time we go. Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't have thought any of the WL rooms would have had such a good view of MK's fireworks.

We have stayed in room 5082 twice. It is a woods view, directly overlooking the lobby. While we could not see the castle from our balcony, we did have a very nice view of the fireworks and could also see the monorail go by. I believe you would need a room in the north wing to see the castle. I would also suggest keeping your requests fairly general, such as "MK view, near the lobby," instead of asking for a particular room number. This gives the room assigner more leeway if that particular room is not available.

I am going in May for the first time without our DD...just me and the hubby for our anniversary! We are so excited...so I know how you must be feeling! We are not staying at WL this time...we are renting points and are trying to get into BWV.

My main tip to you...and I say this on every thread...try to get room on either the 3rd 4th or 5th floor. The 6th and above have solid balconies...you have to stand at the balcony to see over the edge. I cannot stand that, as DH and I are into "balcony sitting" with a glass of wine.

Have fun...you will LOVE WL!

Thanks so much for the info. Another question for you. Was staying off the lobby as noisy as every one says it is? This could possibly ruin a romantic mood.

This room is located on the 5th floor, right near the main elevators. I found the room very quiet and a quick walk to everything. Was able to watch Wishes from my room and even heard most of the music.

We had a woods view room, 4086, which opened over the lobby (directly above WCC) and had a distant MK view, but also overlooked a parking/service road area. I think calling this a woods view was a stretch, but we liked the lobby location and had a great view of the fireworks at night.

Of course this was in January. If the leaves have filled in, this may now be a woods view with NO view of Wishes.
