Wild & Wacky 3 week LIVE Trip Report AKV, DCL & BWV

Hi everyone!!

Today we went to Magic Kingdom.....we decided to do a guided tour in hopes of maximizing time. On my friend Marci's recommendation, we chose a VIP guide by the name of Jeff S. (Thanks Marci!!) He was very good and the kids liked him a lot....especially Kirsten who rode Big Thunder with him. (She NEVER goes on that :rotfl:)

Jeff ran around getting fast passes for us, so we virtually rode every ride with little or no wait. The tour was from 9 am until 3 pm.....the tour concluded with a special seating area to watch the parade. We usually never stay and watch the parade so that was a nice treat.

We ran into a friend Vicki and her family in line at Dumbo!!!

Because we are crazy obsessed with doing one thing after another....we decided to surprise the kids with tickets to...BLUE MAN GROUP!!

I almost had to call up Chanon to get help figure out the lay of the land over there at City Walk by Universal Studios. My god, there was a ton of people and that place is HUGE!!! Kids definitely got a kick out of the show and it was worth doing. Amazing how entertaining rolls of what looks like toilet paper can be!! :rotfl:

Look who was in the kids' bathroom...

Stay Tuned....

Coming up tomorrow...

We are doing a 1 day / 2 park guided tour over at Universal!!

You guys are having a great trip and it appears that the weather has cooperated. I can't wait to hear about US. We will go back there someday, but not until after Harry Potter land opens.

Kristine - you got some great parade photos. I'm going to have to look into pricing that MK guided tour. Might be a good thing to do in December when we can split it amongst the families.

Kristine will you adopt me :teeth:

You are making some wonderful memories with your family! So glad to hear you are all having such a good time.

I finally had a chance to read your TR, Kristine. Sounds as if you are all having a trip of a lifetime. Thanks for sharing it with us!

OMG! This is a great photo of the family too! And all I see is that long sleeve shirt on your guide! :faint: I don't know how they do it! :faint:
I have a new avitar!!! Your Goofy photo is awesome!

Have a blast at Universal! You'll love it! It's not *that* large, just a long walk from the parking lot! :rotfl: Let me know where you guys decide to eat dinner (or if you need a suggestion! If you eat the parks, the ONLY place to eat is Mythos...outside the park - anywhere that looks good. :rotfl: )
Have fun!!!

you are not kidding....that walk from the parking lot was a killer. I just was reading the paperwork for the tour this morning...and it includes valet parking!!:cool1: It must be closer (I hope)

What an awesome trip you guys are having. Thanks for reporting! :thumbsup2

WOW! You are an amazing photog! Your pics are so wonderful! I love the Goofy pic as well. Course I love Goofy! That is an awesome picture!
I want to do the tour guide deal sometime. I really want to do it because of the firework reserved seating. hahaha...But it sounds like a great way to do MK, have a guide to get the FP for you and all.

AND Blue Man Group?????:hyper: I so wanted to see them. We went to Citywalk when we were there in May, but it was early in the day and being in a wheelchair makes it hard to stay a whole day anywhere. Next time, we go to CityWalk later in the day and stay for the show. We ate at Margaritaville and the Cheeseburger in Paradise WAS a paradise cheseburger!

I cannot wait to hear your take on Blue Man Group! They are so great! Looking forward to more pics and report! This is a FUN TR!:thumbsup2 Yes, indeedy, it is!!!:yay: Really makes me wish I was still there!

Hi everyone...

Back from our VIP tour a Universal. We did the 1 day/2 park tour. This is a short synopsis:

family313.jpg

we checked in at 9:30 am...at this point we were given bottles of water and/or coffee

we left on our tour at 10 am. There were 7 of us, our 5 & David & Gavin from England. Very nice guys...Christopher loved both of the guys. This tour can have up to 12 people. Our tour guide was Chris....she has worked for Universal for 18 years!!

family308.jpg

Unlike the WDW VIP tours that use mostly the fast pass system...this tour took us through the back door for EVERY single attraction. We bypassed ALL lines and immediately got on each ride.

Islands of Adventure: Rides we did & my thoughts (hope it doesn't bore you)

Incredible Hulk Coaster
2 kids & David & Gavin went on this ride...big thumbs up from all

family299.jpg

Doctor Doom's Fearfall

everyone except Kirsten rode this....thumb up from all of us. Bill wanted to go on again!!

Storm Force Acceleration (basically like the teacup ride at WDW)
3 kids went on & liked it

family300.jpg

Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
everone except me (Chanon will think I am a wimp) liked this ride. I do not care for simmulation rides...and I had to close my eyes at the end

Jurassic Park River Adventure (like Splash Mountain)
everyone like it....we didn't get too wet

Jurrasic Park Discovery Center
a place that had a bunch of bones

Mystic Fountain
a fountian that talked to you by name...kids got a kick out of it

Dueling Dragons
everyone except Bill & I rode this twice...and they all loved it

The Flying Unicorn

a very short coaster....we all rode it. Everyone except Kirsten thought it was a waste of time

Caro-Suesss-el
we all rode this....everyone except Kirsten thought it was BORING!!

Cat in the Hat

everyone rode...Bill & I did not like it.

MISC. PICS

At this point our group ate at Mythos...it was good and I would eat there again.

family298.jpg

After lunch we went to the Universal Studios part

Jimmy Nuetron's Nicktoon Blast

everyone rode...by far one of the WORST rides I have been on in my life!!!! I broke out in the Lord's Prayer that I would not vomit on this ride. It is a simulator that shakes so much it was horrible. David (the dad from England) did not like it either....everyone else was fine with it.

Shrek 4-D
cute entertaining 4 d movie

ET Adventure

calm ride theat everyone rode and enjoyed

The Simpsons

AFter the last simulation ride David & I chose not to go on this. Bill got off and informed me that this ride shaved off a year of his life!!!!!! He HATED it! Gavin (son from England) thought it was very rough. All 3 of my kids loved it!! :rotfl:

Disaster
show/ride....everyone liked it

Men In Black
all of us rode this ride....Bill & I weren't really wild about it. too much spinning for us. However, the rest rode this a few times.

A thunder storm blew threw and the ride Jaws was actually struck!! Unfortunately it never came back up, so we were unable to ride.

The Mummy

everyone but Bill & Kirsten rode this ride. Everyone except me like it. All in all, it was decent ride. But I was so fried out art this point that I couldn't really enjoy it

At this point our tour was over. Here's a pic of our whole group

family309.jpg

Observations/Conclusions

I am definitely glad we did his tour. It was well worth the money!! Upon reflection, Bill & I decided we are much more WDW people....only because of the amount of thrill rides. The kids really enjoyed it and would love to go again & again.....we will go again, but not in the real near future

Sounds like another wonderful day Kristine! (PS: Did anyone get the risotto of the day from Mythos? Apparently that is what the are known for there...)

Did you guys ride the Mummy ride?! I don't see that on your list? And your not a wimp - it get's to me too after a few times. The simulations onnSpiderman are awesome though aren't they?

What's up for tomorrow??

I love the pictures and the overview of each ride! Glad you did the tour were able to do so much at both parks!

Where to tomorrow?

Oooops.....forgot about the Mummy. We did ride it..I added it to my list. No risotto, wish I would have known

Yes, the effects on Spiderman were great. I was good until the end, then it got too intense.
