Wild Turkeys and Dancing Banana Heads Cruise 11/25/06

Not much to report today. Bob, you will appreciate this. I have two relatively large clients who are in similar businesses (not really competitors, but...) and one is lots of fun to work with...the other not so much. When I got into this independent consulting business, I didnt' really want to work as much as I am right now..so I'm seriously toying with the idea of dumping one of them under the pretense of potential competitive conflicts. I have picked up several other projects and one long term client on top of my regular work to make this feasible. BUT it's so darned hard to turn down business. I feel like doing so would give me really bad karma and then when I find myself slow I'll never get it back. Irrational I know...but..

I understand completely. That is actually one of the things that has kept me from stepping out on my own. I have this great relationship with several clients, but I have this fear that when I step out, they will be like "Bob who?".

Oh well, life is good today. I am at one of my favorite clients for a close-out meeting to tell them how bad the IT structure is for one of their acquisitions. Should be a FUN meeting!

Kathy - glad to hear you're feeling better. I'm much better today too.

I'm actually jealous of those of you having cold weather. We have been sweltering in California, and my air conditioning is broken. It actually got up to 95 upstairs last week. Sounds weird to complain about, but its November for Jiminy Cricket's sake.

DS lost a tooth last night. I was actually a little bummed cause I was hoping could visit him on the ship. That and it means that he's growing up.

Friday FINALLY! Only 1 week to go ... well, for most of us (Linda? We're talking about you!!! )

When we drove by the bank at 5:30 it was 64 degrees! That is crazy for the week before thanksgiving. (heat wave!)
I almost don't like it! I want it to be COLD here so I can smile and think about the nice warm cruise weather we will be having!.

We're right there with you on this, Athene! It's so much more fun knowing you're leaving the freezing cold!

Went to the Dr. this a.m. for a regular visit, and he insisted that I get a pneumonia shot. I didn't even know they existed! He promised no side effects (he knows about the cruise ... heck for that matter, I think the garbage men, the grocery store clerks, the bank tellers, and random people that stand anywhere near us and don't walk away quick enough know about it)

well it's turning out to be a nice day today after a very cold start today.

I just finished sending a PM to everyone who posted months ago and then just disappeared from the thread in hope some of them may post or show up at the meet to say hello.
Those of you who have been posting since the beginning like me know who i am talking about. I have high hopes a few will show up at the family meet, they were all such nice people. I really would like to meet them all.

Lynn:: We're heading up to Cobleskill, NY...are you guys near there? it's about a 3.5 hour drive for us from here, but with the little munchkin, sometimes it's 4 hours. Dh's got to work tomorrow unfortunately, so we won't leave until about 4pm...(I was hoping he didn't have to work so we could leave tonight and Maddie would sleep the whole way up)...so hopefully tomorrow, we'll have a smooth drive...let's hope for no tantrums in the car!

Whew track was very difficult today. I'm glad, however to report that I only have one more practice to get in before the cruise. Can you believe they're gonna have an optional practice on Turkey Day?!? They don't have the audacity to do that! I'm not going, I'll tell you that.
