Is it important to book at 3 am? YES! I canceled my tea time and went to rebook to get a later time and they were all gone, so I quickly rebooked my original time! I booked the early brunch first thing and 4foxes missed it.

I wonder if they only allocate a certain number of tables for each booking date . . .

Also, I didn't see an option for booking more people than were in my cabin - so if I had wanted to book for us AND 4foxes, for example, it didn't appear to be possible.

Well, now I know why I couldn't get on the DIS boards after I made my ressies. All you other crazy people were on here as well!

I did get the brunch, dinner, Rasul and St. Maarten excursion I wanted. :thumbsup2

Linda, to answer your question, yes they do only allocate a certain number of slots at each time. I have also heard that they hold back close to 50% of Palo reservations for those without access to early reservations. So, if you want to change, you should be able to do so on the ship.

Now, another thing I thought about this morning for those who didn't get what they want, and don't mind the 3:00 a.m. again, you can get up on the 75 day mark and make changes when that groups ressies open up. Just a thought!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Morning Nanas
Boy am I tired I got up at 2 and did my ressies we are doing brunch on Sunday at 11 dinner Wednesday at 7 and got DH a massage on CC that was enough for me, it was abck to bed and up again at 5 for work, which is where I am now. glad everyone got the ressies they wanted.

Wendy

Good mornin' fellow nanas & turkeys!

I'm unhappy to report that I was a bit too late for Palo ressies. Oh well, I'll give it a shot on the 11th. I guess I didn't realize this was on the same difficulty-level as getting reservations for Cinderella's breakfast @ MK (that seemed EASY at the time! :rotfl: ). :confused3

Denise & Mutt: We work for an insurance company! :woohoo: Bill's an agent and I'm a licensed assistant. (Who is really in charge is up for discussion! :rotfl2: ) We're both former teachers/coaches so it's kinda nice to see some reward for hard work. :cheer2: (Many of our clients are former students & co-workers so we haven't lost touch with the old days!)

Anyway, our latest assistant quit in June with about 12 hours' notice via email so I've been working in our office full time all summer, instead of working from home. (Is it something we did? :confused3) We're looking for someone who can learn quickly :teacher: , handle a computer :badpc: , and has a good sense of humor  . Does this "a-peel" to anyone?! Caution: this job may lead to :drinking:!!!!

Have a wonderful day all!

Good morning Banana Heads

My hat's off to those of you that actually got up at 3 a.m. and booked

. I just couldn't get myself to do that!! So I only missed one time that I wanted (Sunday brunch), but got everything else including 7 p.m. dinner at Palo's on Thursday, the Golden Eagle on St. Maarten, and my CABANA MASSAGE on CC!!! :woohoo:

Yesterday was a busy one. We power washed the house and garage, picked tomatoes (I think I have about a bushel picked!) and did some holiday baking (I make zucchini bread now and freeze it for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so got 6 loaves made last night). Plus I also baked some fresh bread to go with the stuffed cabbage I'm making for dinner. (See Bob? I can cook! I just have to get the urge ... and when I do, I don't stop!).

Hopefully we will start canning tomato sauce today, too.

And of course, my fantasy football draft is at 3 p.m.

I just printed off about 9 pages of stats to start reviewing :teeth:. Gonna be a long, busy day!!

Have a great one, everybody!!!

Howdy everyone,
It seems most of you got what you wanted for ressies, I'm happy for you!!

We didnt even try. We are still debating some stuff, guess we have done it so many times we figure if we get it fine, if we dont fine. we will just do something else.

well we are off to the airport to see our DD and grandkids off to Oregon today. It will be very quiet for awhile around here!!! Minnie will be very lonesome too!! She is so use to having someone to play with all the time now.

I will check back with this board later, have a great day,
Kathy

:thumbsup2 Morning everyone.....

Well glad to see most of you got your reservations made. Man this seems as bad as trying to get pre-sale tickets to a concert.. :smooth:

So know I am looking forward to my 75 day mark. The only problem is I have to work that day which means just like Wendy...I have to get up at 3am then go back to bed for a few hours just to get up again  Oh well, its a Monday....Mondays are "pure hell" at work. So I guess I can just let the patients have it, if they give me a hard time. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Just kidding.

I have to run to Target and buy a new iron today. I just got this one at Christmas time. I was ironing a shirt for my son, finished went to unplug, bearly touched the plug a huge spark and pop. The cord came out of the plug part... it was still pluged into the wall but there was no cord attached. It was burnt and black...Crazy.....Just dont make things like they did in the good ole days... :)

Well have a great day everyone...actually DH and I are still trying to figure out what exactly we want to make ressie for....well at least we can discuss this throughout the day...I just love talkin about the cruise

Later
Denise

Kathy: I know that empty and quite feeling after they leave. It takes me a couple of hours before I am able to go into Heather's room after she leaves... :sad2:

    just a few extra nana's today.

We did the 3:00am thing...we just stayed up and then went to bed after, AND, I went to Church this morning at 9:30...YES - I'm VERY tired.
But it was worth it

Monday 6:30 Palo
Tuesday - Regatta at St. Maarten
Wednesday - Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Tour
Thurs - Palo Brunch - 10:30
Thurs. - Couples Massage 2:00

We definitely feel it was worth it to get up. We actually cancelled our original time for Palo dinner and went back in real fast and were able to get an earlier slot. We want to see Twice Charmed and we almost messed up. :guilty:

I hope everyone gets a good nap in today!

Kelly

Good Morning To you all,
It's a VERY nasty and rainy day here in NY!! It's actually in the 60's too. Well DH got up at 3am ( that's too early for me!!!) and made our ressies. DH is the best :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!! We signed DS up for Flounder's Nursery and we are going to Palo's on Tuesday at 6pm and then brunch at 10:30am. Well today we are going to go through DS's clothes and see what he needs for the cruise. Went to Payless and got DS the cutest little sneakers and boots. Well everyone have a great day and talk to you tomorrow!!

Woogal: I think we are going to be eating at Palo's the same day right??

Mmmmmmmmmmmm... Zucchini bread sounds good!! Can I have the recipe???

Oh Lynn ... you made my day! Is there anything better than someone asking for a recipe? (Yeah, I know, you've never had it ... but it's GOOD! :goodvibes)

Mix together:
2 c sugar
2 c peeled, grated zucchini
1 c. oil (I use a canola blend)
1 c. sour cream (I use light)
2 t. vanilla
3 eggs

Blend in:
3 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. baking powder

Fold in 1 c. raisin (or chocolate chips) and 1 c. nuts

Pour into greased and floured bread pans. If you use the 8x4x3 foil pans from the store, this will make 3 loaves, so bake at 350 for about an hour. If you use regular bread pans (9x5?), then it makes 2, so bake at 350 for 1 hour 20 minutes. You'll have to test for doneness with a knife (sometimes it will take longer than expected, especially in the larger pans). These freeze very easily and are just as good when thawed out.

By the way, Lynn ... we're doing Palo's on Thursday night (semi-formal).

Shell - please pass some of your energy my way :) I can barely even manage to think about what I'm going to make for dinner. What was I thinking staying up until all hours of the morning. Oh...that's right.....I can hear the shiip's horn now "when you wish upon a star"

Lynn - my daughter thinks your son is adorable. She's almost 11 but she is going to make a great babysitter soon. She's great with little kids.

Kathy - thanks for the input yesterday on the excursions. We finally decided to just go for it with the Regatta. DH really wants to do that. The more I read about St. John the more I wanted to make sure I saw a beach there. We've never snorkeled and it sounds like Trunk Bay is a great place for 1st timers. The whole family is going to do that together. I'm excited..I think it will be great.

See you later-
Kelly

I actually have that file...the ships horn sounding if anyone wants it.
Wow....this board sure slowed down....everyone takin a nap?
Enjoy the rest of the weekend...
Bill

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Kelly: Tell DD thank you ;) !! Babysitting is the best job!! I babysit when I was 12 and had the job till my 1st year in high school. It makes really good money!! She will have to meet him on the cruise!!

Shell: Thank you :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: soooooo much for the recipe!! I am going to try it this week and I will let you know how it goes!! Oh, I must have read it wrong. Semi-Formal night is the night I want to get DS pictures taken for our Christmas :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: cards!!

Kathy: How are things by you with the Hurricane heading your way?? I hope everything is okay    !!!

Today is downpours of rain all day long!! It was a great day to get things together for the cruise!! DH and I are thinking of doing the 4 day at sea and 3 at land next. We went to take DS to Disney World princess: for the 1st time. :mickeybar :mickeybar

90 days till we sail away :sail: :sail: :sail: :sail: :sail:

Bill,
DH has the Disney Magic's horn too and plays it all the time!!
It makes me get more and more excited for the cruise!!

I would LOVE the download of the ship's horn and I know my DH and kids would too!!! :cool1:

Kelly

Looks like my family will be joining your merry crew. Me: jeff, DW Mina, DD8 Elizabeth and DD2 1/2 Emily..

We haven't booked yet but discussed it at length this morning. Finding out that the ship will be decorated for the holidays is probably the clincher with DW. Woo hoo. Will post again once we've booked.

And you talk about me Wendy!!!! Typing in the driveway....ships horn on start-up...(ok, so I sat for 45 minutes waiting for the Wonder to pass the two palms cam....you cant prove a thing!!!)
Anyways....
Kelly, if you want the horn, I can e-mail it to ya--- at least I think I can...PM an e-mail addy and I'll get it to ya...

Good luck on the convincing JD....just tell her its the happiest ship on earth and if I know my fellow travellers (and I do....ohhhh...I do)...they're about the nicest people on earth.

She doesn't need THAT much convincing. It's just that we were just on the Magic (our first cruise ever) two weeks ago and she thinks it's too soon. Me...I had a rough first couple of days on the ship getting my sea legs but after I got into the groove I absolutely loved it and couldn't wait for the next cruise. I suspect we'll be booked by week's end. :woohoo:
