Steve we will all be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Keep your chin up.

My GOSH! Y'all have been BUSY while I was gone! I ran out of lunch time before I ran out of posts to read . . . Happy Anniversary Bill & Shell. And years of happiness to the anniversary folks and birthday folks I missed.

How did the baby Laura make out with her tests?

I'm happy to report that of 14 Tag.Teammates running in the DL 1/2 marathon, 12 finished (not the blind man and his wife although they gave it a valient effort), and our youngest team member finished 3rd in his age group, with an average pace of 6.49 min/mile.

Flight from heck coming in from Vegas last night - in front of two related families with three kids under 5 each - NONE of whom, kids or adults, sat still or shut up for the entire 5 hour trip. I was reduced to leaning forward and holding my hands over my ears. arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Happy day, all!

Big hugs to you and your family, Steve. Your precious Angel is in our thoughts and prayers. I can remember when my goddaughter, Alyssa, had to have open heart surgery at 10 weeks of age. Watching Alyssa's mom "give" her baby to an OR nurse that morning is something I never want to see again. Alyssa had an excellent recovery and only sees the heart specialist every three years. Unfortunately, kids with Down Syndrome often have heart-related problems.

Congrats Linda - that is quite an accomplishment!!! Because I am obessing on tags - did you haev that one before or is it recent?

Steve - big :grouphug: to you and your family - and did you see my tag LOL. Don't let your wife read the DIS over your shoulder or you are in trouble!!!

Hello and happy pirate: day to all.

Lucinda - I was wondering how you are doing today? I hope all is :thumbsup2 . Sending you a :grouphug: from our family.

Well, not too much longer and Yo Ho Yo Ho a cruising we will go! :goodvibes
It seemed like it was taking forever to get here, now I'm worried that I won't have everything done before we have to go.

It's funny how life is. I was reading Stephen's post about watching Laura being hooked up and not having control. That's exactly how his dad and I felt when he was 11 1/2 months old. He was born without a soft spot and his head was growing very lop-sided. He had to have part of his skull removed so they can make him a soft spot and allow his brain to grow. You realize at that moment that life is a gift, a treasure. And family and friends are part of that gift. So I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for showing concern and support for our children.
Yes, Stephen, my face is leaking again ;)

Hi everyone,
I am here and I am doing okay. I have another problem. My dd who is 8. How can I get through to her that she is loved and that we want her around. She feels unloved and unwanted. I do not want this to get worse.

Please help. Do you think I should talk to a pastor at my local church.

TIA

Lucinda

Us too. We're at the Hyatt. Too paranoid at that time of year to try to fly in same day...
Hey Guys,
So on Friday night are we going to meet for some dinner since we are all staying at the Hyatt.

Good Afternoon Nana Heads   ,
Well today was a busy morning. I have a doctor's appointment at 9am and then Mommy and Me. It was a nice sunny :sunny: :sunny: day until about a few minutes ago when we had a downpour of rain. I ran to Toys R Us today to get DS Tickle Me Elmo since it came out today. My goal is to have all my Christmas :santa: :santa: :santa: shopping done before the cruise. I am going to give it to him for Christmas. I am beat from all the running around today plus DS did not sleep good last night. I am going to take a nap so I can stay up for Dancing with the Stars ;) ;) !! Well talk to you tomorrow :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc !!

Hey guys,
Sorry for not posting lately, it's been crazy, I know mom's been keeping you all up to speed.

Yesterday was probably one of the most difficult things I've had to do. It's more of a feeling of loss of control, watching them hook 26 wires to your 7 month olds head. You realize real quick that things are not in your hands. God only let us "borrow" our kids, but he is in control.

For a group of people who don't really know each other, you guys are a caring, compassionate group, and I thank you all for remembering us.

Well I did what any responsible parent would do to try to make things better for their kids. I pulled the oldest one out of school, and we all went to Disney! As the wife said, we went to our happy place.

Again thanks for thinking of us.

Steve
Steve,
Don't worry about posting!! My thoughts are with you and your family!! That is great that you went to Disney!! I hope you and your family had as much fun as you could!!

I have this insatiable need to put a lampshade on my head and dance around until everyone in here is happy :rotfl: . Instead, you get this:

Top 10 things to say at the office during Pirate Day:

10. "Hop to it, dogs: Thar be leftover catering booty in the break room for plunderin'."
9. "Sixteen men an' a copier mess -- yo, ho, ho and a bottle of toner."
8. "I'll be keelhaulin' the next one of ye what leaves ye filthy Tupperware in the break room sink!"
7. "To arms, me lads! The spoils of the snack machine shall be ours, to each in a fortieth share!"
6. "Fax ahoy, mateys!"
5. "Ye bent my ear with yer lubberly questions WITHOUT tryin a reboot first? Arrr! It's the plank for you, ye mangy cur... and thank ye for calling Microsoft Tech Support!"
4. "Aaaarrrrrghhh! Who among us floated the air mead?"
3. "Arrr! I've arrr!anged for Arrr!lene in arrr!chives to send up that arrr!ticle on arrr!bitration."
2. "Avast, ye demon copy machine! Taste the wrath of me ****!"
1. "Arrr, I have made note of yer demands and I have but one question for ye: Will ye be wantin' slivers o' potato fried in the popular French style with that?"

I definitely think we should meet Friday -- dinner, drinks & snacks, whatever works for everyone. :thumbsup2

If I remember right, we're all getting into Orlando in mid-afternoon?? Our flight arrives at 2:30. . .

Good afternoon.

I was not aware of today being pirate day... Darn! Didn't get the memo.
Today marks my 25th message sent! Boy howdy how the time flys!

DutchsMommy - I did not know that the UN inaugural sitting was today!

:surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:

AP US is really getting to me. As I outline the chapters of the book, it's like all of my brain power is going too. I had three tests today! Three! What's up with that?!? On in Spanish, math, and Micro Excel. They were all fairly easy though. Yay! See you all later!

Here's the sail away party we will see in 2 Months, and 6 days.

Good afternoon Nanas & pirate: pirate: !

Is Pirate Day a Hallmark holiday? I didn't get cards.

Lucinda, I'm sure there are others who will have much better advice, but I would talk with a pastor, child psychologist, or someone who has "been there, done that" to offer some suggestions. Are there any opportunities for some one-on-one time -- even just to go get groceries or run errands? Sometimes little things make all the difference. Best of luck -- I know the other Nanas will have some great advice. :thumbsup2

Better get some more work done before Dancing With the Stars. Why-oh-why did I start watching this show??!!! :happytv:

Have a super evening, Mateys! pirate: pirate: Arrrrrrrrgh! pirate: pirate:
Almost forgot these:

Good point Cheri. Why hasn't Hallmark grabbed onto this and taken it over yet?! :lmao:

Shell - I have got to tell you...You are so funny and quick! :rotfl2:
Thanks for the laugh...can't wait to meet you.

Back again!

Lynn, I just sent you an email about linking early seating ressies.

Dutch's Mom - I've had that tag about a year - got it over on the scrapbook board.

Lucinda - Is it possible that your dd is depressed? Something could be going on at school that's whacked her self esteem, too. I'd do some investigation. Why does she feel unloved? "What could I do that would help you feel loved?" or "what would have to happen for you to feel loved?"

I also suggest specific praise - ie NOT "You look so pretty in that dress", but rather behavior based - something she has control of - "I liked how you played with your baby brother so nicely after school" or "I appreciated that you tidied your room without being asked" or "I'm proud of you for the effort you put in to doing your math homework correctly" or whatever is relevant.

Happy Day, All

Some of you have been asking about the results of the tests for Laura, we won't know anything for a couple of days. I'll keep you posted.

DutchsMommy-I did see your tag, and yes, you guys will see the Angry Cuban in person if she reads this. I guess you all have something to hang over my head...blackmail anyone? I guess I need to tell on myself before one of you tell on me in a  daiquiri induced state!

Seeing as today is pirate day I thought of one thing, one of the best lines from a movie in a long time, "I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request, means no." I about spit my $3.50 Dr.Pepper across the theater when Barbosa dropped that beauty.

Bad line for the kids but good for dad!

Our flight was changed so we should be in Orlando till around 3:30 pm. So dinner at 5 o'clock sounds great if that is okay??

Hi Nana Heads!

Cindy -- Is your daughter's behavior/thoughts related to your move to your in-laws or to your m-i-l's illness? Has she had to change schools with the move? Have her teacher(s) noticed changes? Contacting a pastor and/or psychologist may be helpful for you and her. Big hugs to you.

Lynn -- I, too, plan to get my Christmas shopping done before our cruise. I don't want the after-cruise glow to evaporate as I am trying to buy gifts in the last few weeks before the holiday. I also plan to have my new tree decorated in the living room before the cruise. I usually decorate by mid-November due to all our traveling between Thanksgiving and the new year.

Linda - We are on the wait list for early seating. If we do get early seating, maybe we can "tag along" at the last minute with your linked ressies. I'll talk to you about it at the 3pm DIS meet that day.

Josh -- Love the pic of the sail away party. I haven't been on deck 9 at 5pm in a few cruises. We are usually on deck 4.

Have a great evening everyone. Going to the basement to clean out some stuff. Also, getting a box to keep all my just bought cruise stuff together.
