I've seen those several times, most recently just last week. They're amazing to watch, as they're very acrobatic fliers. The fork-tailed bird may have been a Swallow-tailed Kite. We're bird watchers and have seen several "firsts" at WDW, including that Kite.
About a year ago, a couple of otters ran across the road in front of me from CSR to the pond across the way, stopping several times on the way to wrassle.
At certain times of the year, armadillos are everywhere along the roads in the late afternoon.
There are 2 families of Sand Hill Cranes that hang out around the parking lot at DAK. You can often see them in the grassy areas around the outskirts of the lot, but sometimes they're wandering around the parking lot itself. One of the young ones had lost a foot, but was getting around pretty well on his good foot and the stump.
A few months ago I drove right under a bald eagle perched on a lamp post on the exit ramp from World Dr. to Osceola Pkwy. I've also seen one (probably the same) on the tall snag by the pond across from BB.
There's a flock of wild turkeys often seen out in front of FtW, and a couple of weeks ago one of the toms was strutting around with his tail in full display.
I also love to see the Wood Storks. They're big, fluffy white birds, unlike the skinny egrets and herons. They appear to have a black head, but their head is actually bald of feathers.
